Do you like them? Would you use them? Would your unit buy one?
This is the first time I've ver used a Valkyrie in a campaign. truthfully I don't like it. Granted it had some bad luck with the dicec but it was rather ineffective with everything it tried except taking out an unarmored truck. It's expensive to reload and repair. Only it's thick armor keeps it from being unsalvagable. Hopefully the next time we play Oafman rolls better. Perhapsthat will help with moderate my rant.

I've got mixed feelings about Valkyries, but for their size and speed they're not bad 'mechs. Just don't try and bite off more than you can chew with one.

It's an alright light mech, I wouldn't use if I didn't have to, but it's alright. The big thing I don't like about it is the fact that its laser is in the arm, which means it can be rendered harmless fairly easily once it's out of ammo.

The Valkyrie is more of a support mate when you add him into a lance. He is not that light brawler that takes down other lights like a Jenner and such.
I find them more of a nuisance mech. One that has sub-par manuverability but not enough firepower for you to invest time to justify its destruction. As a result it slowly plinks you to death with its LRM.
The main problem with it is that once it is out of LRM ammo it is fairly worthless. _________________ ".... at one hundred yards. Volley fire, present! Fire! Independent, fire at will!"

I used to know how to kill stuff with a Valkyrie, but that was a long time ago. You have to regard it as a support mech, not a one-on-one brawler. The below-average speed for a light means it needs something heavier to hide behind to really put that LRM to use. It's perfect as the fastest member in a heavy lance, for example.

Valkyries can be quite effective, if used properly. Fine light fire-support and they are well armored for their size. Good in 3025 games and even later with special munitions.

Like many of the 3025 'mechs, the Valkyrie requires a certain amount of finesse to use effectively. If you have "the knack", then you'll be quite effective with them. If not, you're probably better off using other, more straightforward 'mechs.

I was starting to get the hang of it by the end. I found it hard when forced to keep jumping in order to keep from getting swarmed by Locusts. Maybe with practice the pilot will do better.

As a light mech, they are pretty good. You have to know how to handle it as it is easy to get into trouble with a Valk.

The Valkyrie is good when used properly. The Phoneix version is excellent, but they really should have swapped out the TC for an extra Medium.

Don't know. Never used one, never sen them used. That's why I voted for the 'hidden' option.
Which I assume was just a type-o.

I've got a soft spot for the Valk, it was my first mech (that I actually knew what I was getting: I'd previously picked mechs on the picture, since I couldn't read. I really liked the Locust. My brother liked the Battlemaster.)
It's a good light supporter and harrasser. Fire a few missiles, raise hell with the neighbors, and then get out of dodge, fast!
There are, however, better mechs to take out. _________________ "Politics is the Art of looking for trouble, finding it everywhere, misdiagnosing the problem, and applying the wrong solution."

I like to use it in a unit cause it's a decent team player. You'll just never see me using one in a duel. Glad to capture one but wouldn't buy.

Just went over the budget for the merc unit last night and I noticed the big problem that I am going to have with it. Each ton of ammo is 30,000 minimum. That seems a bit expensive for the operating expenses for a light mech. For campaigns the ammo will need to be used only with surity.
