if i remember correctly, the Bergen factory where the Ursus came from could not produce any XL engines ! Also arent Ghost Bears trying to cut cost and use standard engine mechs ?
Firepower wise, this mech is good but the fluff isnt too fitting and the name isnt a bear name.
Something like Ursus Major could be fitting

That name just ruined my mood today (reason can be seen somewhere around).
For second line unit its a little expensive. I don't know if bears have enough money for second line mechs like this. Otherwise nasty close range fighter and ATMs give it nice long range punch in connection with PPCs.
Edit: Name changed, mood saved.

Remember that Clans don't actually use money. Resources are divided up by the Clan as a whole, and are distributed where they are needed.
That's why the Clan war machine is so effective: most of the resources the Successor States put into "non-essential" things like keeping the masses entertained, prisons, etc. is given over for military use.

I think, that Bears and other clans localized in IS are probably forced to use them sometimes to deal with locals and with resources they put to relocation of entire population they must keep sharp eye on the resources they have.

Admittedly I really dont care much for the fluff now that I reread it. If someone wanted to come up with some better fluff please do.
Now something that I found interesting is according to HMpro you cant put hand and lower arm actuators on a omni mech with a Guass, PPC or AC. I really dont remember that rule anywhere. I had intended to make it a new omni but wasnt able because of that.

Look at the picture of the Stormcrow in the 3050 TRO. It has these little bitty hands off on the sides of its' arms.

Actually, the clans in the Inner Sphere are probalby starting to find themselves very rich in resources compared to the Home clans.
That's one reason why the Ghost BEars were so willing to move.
If memory serves right, most of the worlds in the Kerensky cluster are quite poor. Only a few worlds in the Clan space are actually rich in resources..

Thus the emphasis Clan society places on efficiency, and why they so abhor waste and beurocracy.

Of course, but starting new operations, upgrading technologies to clan standard, or at least making them compatible. Until everything runs smoothly resources, are somewhat limited.

Maybe fixed actuators. Stormcrow PRIME has just lasers in arms, no need to remove actuators.

True... but the point i was trying to make is that even having to worry about c-bills and what not, the invading Clans are likely to find that they have more raw resources.
It may take time to get around to making full use of it, but in the long-run, they have a definite advantage.
I'm guessing here, but besides the honour of participating in the invasion of the Inner Sphere, there's a definite secondary objective of getting resources.
Also the Diamond Sharks must be rolling in c-bills..
Oh and on the topic of the Ghost Bears, they moved most of their people and industry here. They also refited existing facilities.
They are also not shy of encouraging the local populace to work with them, though i'm sure this will be limited in the beginning. But it could lead to the point that they start equipping third-line militias.
(I'm not considering dork ages in anyway here.. i think their idea regarding the Ghost Bear Dominion is just too lame)
