I know that endosteel cannot really be upgraded into a mech without ripping it apart, but seeing as ferros fiberous is armor, how long would it take to apply it.
Also, can you (on a rather extensive field mod) put Ferros Fiberous on an OmniMech?

As for the time it would take to apply new armor, there'd be time to engineer the modification, and once you do that twice the time it takes to repair an equivalent amount of armor. Once to take the old armor off, and then again to put the new armor on.
As for modding an omni, you could do it, but it would take as long or longer to do as it would take for a standard 'mech. The engineering target roll would be higher too.

The application should not take long as mud said but it is that engineering thing that was slipped in there. FF takes up crit spaces which means you would have to make new mounting spots on the mech, check for binding, or spaces, or if exhast vents and ammo loading locations have to be moved.
But with all that said it is not the hardest of retrofits, could be done very trial and error based.
Here is a quick rule idea.
10 Hours + 1 Hour per ton FF, +1 hour per 10 tons mech. Cost to engineer base 100K (think time, parts, programs, tools) + cost of how many tons of FF. Roll would be a engineering roll, no modifiers. If Failed, half the engineering time, then 50K + cost of FF. Same for a third time. No fourth try, just to damn hard. Note, this does not include the Tech/Mech roll to get the FF attached.
AWAD- Do not use the Max Tech and other Books time. You could build a mech in hours from scratch if you use those.

I'll add that i personally think that adding ferro fibrous armour is probably the simplest of the major upgrades that you can make..

Frankestein mechs are pretty easy to get too
If things get desperate, the techs work at amazing speeds.
