The newest Transformers series, Transformers: Cybertron, is set to debut this Saturday on Cartoon Network. It will be the opening show in the Toonami line-up, meaning that it will be on at 6 PM Central.
However, some people have reported Cartoon Network's listings as saying that episode #3 will be the first to air, which makes no sense. Granted, due to a screw-up on the part of the company doing the dubbing actor David Kaye was replaced as the voice of Megatron for the first episode, but that shouldn't be enough to justify such a change.
Also, as of July 18th Burger King will have a Transformers promotion. If I understand the news correctly, you'll have your choice of a TF or a Care Bears toy with the kids' meal.

Here's more news:
IDW will be picking up the Transformers comics since DreamWave went under. Info can be found at:
http://www.ntfa.net/ntfa/index0.php
Also, there was a large Transformers display at some film convention in New York to draw attention to next year's movie. I'm trying to find the link, and post it when I do.
Oh yeah, go fig, I found it about 2 seconds after I hit submit. Anyway, it was at the Licensing 2005 International trade show in NYC, and the link is here:

This BK advertisement is in French, so I'm thinking it hails from Quebec. Supposedly the listed date is "August 8," so that's most likely the release date.

I supose it's asking a bit much from a toy given with food meant for small children, but it doesn't look like they put too much effort into them.
BTW, Winners is now carrying the Alternators line, for about $15 a pop. Of course, the two they had yesterday were two I already own.

Speaking of the Alternators.....
A prototype Alternator that transforms into a Scion "van" has surfaced on-line. The report is that (at least in Japan's Binaltech line) this figure will be Skids.
In addition, it's been circulating that three upcoming Binaltechs - Sunstreaker (new mold?), Red Alert (Smokescreen mold), and Blaster (Skids mold) will come with female driver figures that can fit in the vehicles. Sunstreaker will come with a gal named Junko, who's supposed to be some sort of race track bunny. Red Alert has Asterik, who I think is supposed to be a firefighter. Blaster's driver (whose name I can't remember) is a journalist.

Would these female drives me white and green or white and pink?
If so then the local Mejier's near be has these things in their clearance isle and has had them there for a month and a half now...
Also the BK release could be Canada only...

The ones with the drivers haven't been released yet.
Remember, the US is at least a month behind Japan with the Alternators / Binaltech line.

I will run by the Mejier in Norton Shores MI and see if they still have the figures. I will post the info from one of them here.
These figs are single packed robots, nothing else. And are female in apperance, aka they look like human females.

In that case, I think we're talking about two different things.
http://www.tfu.info/2004/Autobot/AltSmokescreen/smokescreen.htm
That link there will take you to some pics of Smokescreen, the first Alt in the line (aside from the 20th Anniversary Optimus Prime) and the figure who is supposed to be the chassis for Red Alert.
Imagine this dude coming with a little driver that will fit inside of his passenger compartment.
BTW, if you think he's ugly, here's Silverstreak (AKA Bluestreak), who's based off of his chassis: http://www.tfu.info/2004/Autobot/AltSilverstreak/silverstreak.htm

The van is suposedly going to be Ironhide.
I also heard that WalMart is not going to carry the Alternators any more.

In Japan, the Scion will be Skids. Hasbro has the trademark as "Autobot Skids," so they can use that as well.
And the Alternators rumor started before the last few waves showed up in Wal-Mart.

Personally I think WalMart needs to rethink it's entire toy purchasing and advertisement deals as well as layout in their stores.
The ones in Western Michigan are always a mess, toys on the floor, or sitting mixed up on the shevles, bare spots, stuff that hasn't moved in over a year is still on the shevles and yet they won't get rid of it for new stuff.
So it doesn't suprise me that WalMart maynot be carrying the Alternators.
