Fluff question.
OK, aerospace craft use it for reaction mass. And a lot. But how much hydrogen does a mech/tank use?

They don't need reaction mass. Just electricity, baby.

They need reaction mass (you have to fuse something in a Fusion Reactor! ).
But they need only a few gramms per month so if you fill a reactor you will get years of operation!
Edit: There was a BT-source for this information but I can´t remember where!

And here I thought reaction mass refers to the stuff you charge up and throw out behind your fighter to provide thrust.

It is. But if you looked at my wording...

I didn't say tanks/mechs used reaction mass. Just how much hydrogen is nessisary.

Hah!!
*jumps out of the shelf*
Got it!
AT2 page 66ff
Vehicle and Mech fusion engines only need minimal reaction-mass but Fighter & Co use this heated plasma from the engine to throw it behind to get accelleration!
So fighters need lots of reaction-mass!
Reaction-mass is liquid dihydrogen!

Not enough to consider it in single engagement, but enough to consider watter to be valuable resource. The mech would have internal tank (part of engine) for water and it would probably have capacity for (approximately) two weeks of normal activity and something around six days of fighting.
That looks reasonable, but it's just my opinion.

Hey it´s liquid H2 not H2O!

Actually, Hydrogren is just H, as Oxygen is O, so mechs run on liquid H (Enough basic element talk for now)

If you read again, it says Dihydrogen... or 2 hydrogen. soit is H2 not H1.

Actually atomic hydrogen is quite (extremely) reactive and almost immediately reacts and creates dihydrogen. Storing liquid dihydrogen would be really problematic, because it would be pressurized (if it's hit, say boom), or frozen (not easy with all the heat). It's easier to use water and gain hydrogen through electrolysis - main problem with reactors today is that whole process requires more energy than you gain from the fusion (correct me, if I'm wrong. I'm not strong at physics.).
