I wouldn't go that far. I do agree that folks definately need to find a different place to live. It gets both ends of the population too, florida is not a retirement place for the old and feeble either.
We get those luxury real estate manuals in the casino here. When I get a breather I take a look, and the number of properties being sold in Florida are about half of the listings. A lot of them are "being sold at a sacrifice" for several million. I would hate to see what the price would be without the hurricanes. I guess some rich folks are tired of the insurance premiums.

Just caught the tail end up here today. Nothing major, just a large trans-atlantic passenger ship load of rain. Wrote off a day of work, though.

So we are heading into Friday anyone know when Fema is gonna be coming in? Morning news just said we are running out of stuff in the South to help with the situation. The states down here are busting ass why aren;t we seeing I don't know things like the Navy to back up the Coast Guard ect.
Where is the heck is the backup? I know we are just the South but even the undamaged states like Georgia can only do some much solo.

O.K. a partial list of aid coming from S.E. Michigan includes but is not limited to. A convoy of Oakland County Sherrif Department SUVs with personel including sheriff Deputies and donated supplys WXYZ channel 7 (ABC Afilliate) has been collecting cash ($35,000 + at this point).and supplies. Govenor Gramholm is trying to get a refugee center set up in Michigan I know that other groups and agenncies are ramping up to help. As I type this A story just came up on channel 7 that a Best Western hotel in Sterling Hieghts has taken in some refugees free of charge. I understand they all lived in the same apartment building in N.O. andcame in a convoy that was organized by a Michigan resident related to somebody who lived in that building.

That is the way you do it. Take care of your part of it, get your folks out of ground zero and take care of them. Apparently the convoy you are talking about left earlier than most, some of the smart ones, rather than the tail end of the herd that are causing the problems in New Orleans now.

Well looks like there finally getting down there thankfully. But 5 days is nuts but it looks like they can finally get a handle on the situation.

And give it up for all the Helicopter crews from the Coast Guard, Navy, and National Guard. Definately a group of people I hope get full credit for the heroics they have delivered this week doing there job.

The Refuge convoy left New Orleans Monday IIRC. The OCSD convoy headed south today. I am watching the TV for more news I have a TV right next to my computer and mosg of what I watch is either news or news magazines and right now they are all doing stories on the hurricane. Right niow WXYZ channel 7 and Big Boy resteraunts are assembling supplys and cash to send down I expect that convoy to leave in the next 24-48 hours and they may ship by air.
