well heres some thing i was messing around with. in the newer perphery book they have the rocketlaunchers. and well I feel its a waist to use those on mechs. But on Vtols thats another story. here are two main versions of a VTOL i made built around the rocket launcher. one is cheaper then the other both are made for lower tech armies and generly defencive groups. more or less cheap. easy to use and I think might do fairly well its jobs are. and ofcourse can change depending on how you outfit it. with C3 or what not. but the main combat modles are good for hit and run,Calvery, spoting once the ammos been used, and general scouting.

First the more costly one. weighting at 30 tons 1020 BV and a wooping 1,708,000 C-bills

Flint Lock B-2
Engine type- Fusion
movment-10/15
crew-2
heatsinks-10 standard
Armor-4.5 tons standard
72 points
Nose 20
left/right 17
tail 16
rotor 2

Weapons.
1 Large laser
4 Rocket Launcher 15's

Their is also the Flint Lock A series both A-1 and A-2.

Engine Type-ICE
Movement-9/14
Crew-2
Heat sinks 3
Power amp 0.1 tons
Armor *see above desinge*
weapons
1 Med Laser
4 Rocket launcher 15's

Their is also a version for the protective pilot that trades out the ml for a anti missile system allowing himt o get in and out with less worry of lrm and srms or hang around a little for spoting for friendly fire.

So what ya think?

The ICE version with the ML comes to about 718 bv and 694,000 c-bills acording to a program i used.

Hmm. A handly little VTOL. Its legally Lvl-2, but the Rocket Launchers? Come on...their DUMMY FIRE. So I consider it a level 1 design.

It may not have a lot of firepower, but it has a respectiable speed in a lvl 1 game. Once you add in advanced tech, its outmatched, but it could be put to good use.

Not as cheap as it can be.. for the ICE version, dump the medium laser and its heat sinks and if you can upgrade the engine and add more rokkits.

Otherwise just add more rokkits.

I'll second that. Fly in, launch the rockets, fly back for a reload. Repeat until the enemy quits or your base is overrun. Especially annoying if your loading crew and ammo train is mobile...
