------------------------------------------------------------------------------
==Overview:==
The Cayuse was created for one simple purpose: to get into a target zone, lay
down some rocket fire, and then to run.

Although the purpose is so simple, it allows a variety of useage for the
Cayuse. First and foremost is its potential as a raider, able to get in and do
damage before the defenders can react. Secondly, it can be used as a first
responder; in this mission the pilot would fly in and pepper an attacking
force, buying time for the defenders to respond. Third, the quarter ton of
cargo space allows the Cayuse to act as an emergency courier that can carry
emergency supplies or even a person out to a location.

==Variants:==
The most common variant replaces the rocket pods with a TAG unit or some other
such sensor system. These are used as artillery spotters and patrol aircraft.

A second variant is used as a trainer for helicopter pilots; the tonnage from
the rocket pods is replaced with deadweights unless the mission calls for
weapons.

I just wish you could use simple special munitions with the Rocket Launchers. Flares, smoke and incendiary warheads could be useful on a lance of cheap suicide choppers.

So does that mean it's a decent vehicle?

I like it at least.
Its super fast has pathetic but very long-ranged weaponry (relatively.. i mena the ferret has a MG....).
Good for irritating the hell out of anyone..

"Cheap suicide chopper" should say it all.

It's cheap to build and maintain. As long as those RLs hit something, anything, you're not going to cry if someone shoots down a whole lance.

I'm sure the families of the pilots would cry...

"Dear sir/madam,

We regret to inform you that your son/daughter has been killed in combat. He/she/they died in a suicide charge, slightly damaging one of the enemy's lighter machines, and buying time for his/her/their fellow pilots to finish their own attacks, after which they were promptly shot down. Please take comfort in the fact that your child did/will not die in vain, and that the enemy was severely annoyed/inconvenienced by your child's actions.

Sincerely,
Hannib A. Llecter, Commanding"

Ouch.

but that about nails it.

I like it but I dont. I would write it into the fluff of the second run that the option of firing individual rockets was removed and the pilot only has the option of emptying the entire rack and then leaving the battlefield. And this has increased pilot lifespan by 30 seconds from when the battle is joined.

One easy way to increase your protection would be to use level 3 fractional accounting then you can use quarter ton incroments on armour and switch the cargo for two points of armour you could go front and rear with it. Or since you have a one shot weapon, you can put both on the rear to cover your retreat.

It increased the BV by two points as well!

At least you won't be shot down by only one five-point hit to the rear when retreating. Or did you mean we should mount the RLs to the rear?

Of course it did, every point of armour is worth one BV point.
