------------------------------------------------------------------------------
==Overview:==
All things considered, possibly the most feared unit to ever leave the
Stormvanger assembly lines was the Cyclops. Between its high-tech electronics
and its mix of weapons, a Cyclops in the hands of a skilled commander could
change an entire battle.
This version has yet to go into production, but already it is sending
shockwaves among military leaders across the Inner Sphere. The first
modification that stands out is the replacement of the AC/20 for a RAC/5 and
an extra ton of ammo. The RAC is a far more versatile system, yet in a pinch
could still deliver the same amount of damage. This change, coupled with the
switch to endo steel, freed up enough tonnage and internal space to mount a C3
Master system and maximum armor. As another nod to the newer technologies, the
medium lasers have been upgraded to their ER cousins.
What has left us the most stunned is their decision to keep the comms
and targeting computers from the original models. On the Javelin II and their
liscenced Warhammers, Stormvanger has gone with the cheaper, more readily
available Johnston series comms and Federated targeting systems. However, with
the Cyclops II we have the original systems (which to this day are still
powerful) bundled with a C3 Master. Only time will tell how potent this
combination will be.
==Capabilities:==
If the player makes a succesful computer skill check (target number: 12)
they can link the C3 in with a satelite network should one exist for that
planet. This linkage will allow all the benefits of a C3 network to spread
across what portion of the planet that the satelite actively covers. The group
most likely to benefit from this will be artillery commanders.
