Just simple vehicle option, I wonder if it wasn't made before.
Air intake system (AIS) consists of long tube and sealing that allows vehicles to cross shallow water. AIS takes (engine rating / 100 (round up)) * 0.5 t and counts as single item. Only wheeled and tracked vehicles may use AIS.
Vehicle with AIS may enter water hexes of level 0 and level 1 depth just like mechs can (moving on the bottom), but the crew must make piloting skill roll to avoid getting stuck in mud. Wheeled vehicles receive - 2 penalty to this roll. Two failed rolls in a row indicate that the vehicle is stuck to the end of the game and must be rescued later.
Any Ideas? (cost, BV?)

IIRC there's equipment for that in MaxTech.

That's Amphibious equipment that allows vehicle to float (just like WWII Sherman Mk IV tanks upgraded for invasion). It's heavier (10% of weight) and probably more costly. I wanted AIS as simpler and smaller variant.

According to the old BT Compendium: ROW a vehicle can be sealed for space operations by dedicating 10 percent of its mass to sealing systems and it had to be a fusion engine.
You proposal is very similar in concept me thinks and should bend itself to this rule.
BTW, the air duct is not feasible. You are talking about the unit being under 6m of water.

Well, in space (vacuum, radiation, extreme cold, ...) needs a bit more advanced sealing and tank it self is over 2 m high, so the system needs 4 m long telescopic tube, that can be normally folded for carrying and seals for normal air intakes to the engine and few other places. For 10 % of weight I can build amphibious floating tank from MaxTech.
This should allow vehicles to slowly ford river, not to fight in watter.
