Okay, so I was playing Conker: Live and Reloaded the other day, and noticed something interesting.
At one point, there is a large wooden crate, with eyes, hoping around in a circle. Aside from making squirrel pancakes if you get too close, it has another specialty.
On the side, is printed Made in Twycross.
I kid you not. I spent a few minutes double checking it. I assume that everyone here knows what Twycross is.

Indeed. Twycross is a small village in Leicestershire, Great Britain, and is the home of Rare.

Yeah, I just read that on Wikipedia.
And I just thought one of the artists liked BattleTech.

This is all irrelevant. Of course the squirrel-pancake-making cube-o-death is related to Battletech! Isn't everything?
It's kind of like how Komono comes from the Greek for towel-wrap.

If you noticed, quite a few battletech planets/cities are named after real world sites...

Indeed, Twycross is about 15km from where i live. As is
Ibstock (about 2km)
Hinkley (12km)
Coventry (25km)
Nuneaton (10km)
Trent (is a river that runs though burton)
Burton (18km)
All quite rough estimates. But they are all local places. I've noticed there are quite alot of English named planets.

Then again, there are also a lot of planets named after absoulte rubish.
For example:
Here
There
A Place
The worst though was from Warhammer 40,000. There is a planet named Idunno.

Lets not forget those memorable planets called Tall Trees, Second Try, Kooken's Pleasure Pit.....
