Definitely superior to the original Albatross, yet it keeps the oddball flavor of the 'mech.
It still has a glass jaw, relative to its weight. The weapons are better though, and more concentrated to long-range combat. The Large Pulse Laser is turned into an ER PPC, and the Light Gauss is probably an upgrade over the LB 10-X in most cases. I also approve of adding Artemis to the LRMs.
One thing about the fluff though; I can see for myself what's on the 'mech. Tell me how the 'mech is used, and who uses it. Tell a story in your fluff.

Actually when 4U (from TRO 3055 upgrades TRO, armed with LGR, 2 ERMLs, LPL, ERSL, sSRM 6, LRM 15 and hidden behind 16.5t of FF armor) appeared, it lost some usefulness (not in my eyes).
How to use a mech
1.) power on
2.) check your systems
3.) drag yourself to the site of the battle
4.) kick some ...
5.) back to base
6.) make report and three copies of it for your command
Now seriously as the weapons suggest the mech is made for long-to-extreme range firefights, it has enough heat sinks to use most of it's long range weapons at once (LRMs only every other round). I wanted it to be able to keep up with most of heavies and assaults, so it may maneuver effectively on the field. In theory it would stay back and use it's firepower as direct fire-support for it's lance mates that will keep the enemy occupied.
The fluff was made along the lines of 3055 TRO, it's new and untried there is no story, because the mech was just deployed with first units, what kind of story do you want me to tell?
Who uses it? Fluff: one lance - Gryphons regiment of Silver Hawk Irregulars (FWL unit that was in good standing with LCCC (high tech available), tests this variant). The rest of manufactured mechs (two lances) disappeared from sight (of Our Blessed Order) so probably WoB.
Specify questions and I'll provide answers (make them up )

Remarkable Warriors:
Terry "What does that button do?" Broker
Terry Broker was always known for his extreme curiousness and obsession with various gadgets when drunk. Unfortunately for him these habits proved to be his downfall after he joined WoB (some people say that LAAF sent him there, because the question connected with the word catastrophe in his case was WHEN). Terry was an exceptional marksman, so he was assigned to new ALB-5U, but to make getting familiar with new machine more interesting he assigned random keys to various functions (and changed few connections) and went to sleep. Morning he was unable to remember a thing so he went on duty. He was assigned to routine patrol in secret ammo production complex, but as he entered one of the ammo depots he tried to turn on light but instead of that he ejected only to hit ceiling above and also activated auto-destruction sequence that destroyed whole secret depot (that failed to be secret after that). WoB didn't find anyone to blame but thanks to this incident they were forced to retreat off planet and returned remaining ALB-5Us to FWLM, because their superstitious warriors refused to pilot "cursed" mechs.
