As all of you are no doubt aware many of our friends here at the Mordels Bar and Grill have served or are serving in Iraq. I have started this thread so those who have served there can be properly thanked for their sacrifices. This includes anybody who has been there in the Military of Any of the coalition forces. Anybody who has been over there as part of any non-military government agency of any of the involved governments. Any Civilian Aid agency including but not limited to; Red Cross Red Crescent, Doctors With-out Borders, Salvation Army. Any Contractor that has been hired by any of the afore mentioned groups. These are the people who have risked life and limb to help and deserve to be honored and thanked for their courage.

One of my classmates from college served as part of an EOD unit clearing landmines in Bosnia. That's the reason he was back in school, got a bit nocked around when two went off in close proximity to him.

I know Bosnia was different compared to the current conflicts in iraq and Afganistan, but it's all I got.

I've served a year and a half in Bosnia, 7 months of which I was part of a demining monitoring unit.

It isn't like Iraq or Afghanistan (I was supposed to go there in February, but don't have to now, YAY), but, I still saw my share of crappy things.

Darren Howe, whom I graduated from highschool with and whose step-father was my boss, was injured in Iraq in late October and later died of his injuries.

The funeral was beautiful and most of Beatrice was lined along the procession route, a number of my friends are or have served in Iraq and I thank them for their sacrifice.
