1 Improved C³ CPU
2 Medium Lasers
Manufacturer: (Unknown)
Location: (Unknown)
Communications System: (Unknown)
Targeting & Tracking System: (Unknown)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
==Overview:==
Designed as a joint venture between the DCMS, the FS and the new Star League
the TomTom is a assault tank in ever sense of the word. Designed around 2 of
the new massive Long Tom Cannons the TomTom can deliver heavy damage at range
comparable to many of the Clan heavy weapons. Impressive electronics back up
the weapon systems of the TomTom, the most notable being the inclusion of the
new Improved C3 cpu, coupled with a targeting computer and heavy ferro fibrous
the TomTom can dish out heavy damge and use it electronics to call in or
assist other units in defeating enemies on the battlefield. Based heavily off
of the old Zhukov Heavy tank the Tomtom shares many of its lighter cousins
design features.

==Capabilities:==
The Tomtom gets its name from the paired massive Long Tom Cannons, these
cannons have been shortened to allow for easier use by a MBT. The shortened
cannons also sue a slightly less potent shell to maintain a very heavy damage
curve, though at the expense of the range of the original rounds range. 30
rounds of ammunition in case bins keep the tank reletively safe, and in the
fight for a decent amount of time. When the ranges get closer a pair of
Martell medium lasers act as back up. These weapons are tied to a new
Federated Suns supplied Targeting Computer. This allows the gunner to but
every round of ammunition to the best use. The Precentor of Comstar also made
arrangements with the DCMS to supply the new design with the new Improved C3
computers, this coupled with a ECM suite allows the tank to partner up to a
lance and coordinate fire where needed. The TomTom MBT is generally sold with
a Heavy Assult fortress, a massive 200 ton trailer that can be towed into
position and interact with the targeting gear of the TomTom.

==Deployment==
So far the new TomTom is showing up in limited numbers in the DCMS, and
Federated Suns militaries as there is a trade agreement with Comstar, Many of
the tanks are showing up in the Comstar militaries and are so far being very
well recieved.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
==Overview:==
The Heavy Assault Fortress (HAF) is a mobile fortress that can be towed to a
given location and set up to act as a defensive barrier, when coupled with a
TomTom MBT the units can get lay down a barrage of fire that is really quite
lethal. Comstar has started to bank quite heavily on both the TomTom MBT and
the HAF as the back bone of the military especially since it frees up
personell to cover different areas. A wide variety of weapons give the HAF a
heavy damage potential, the main draw back is that all the weapons are
ammunition based and when the ammunition stores run dry can lead to a unit
that is a sitting duck. Because of this a special J-27 unit has been formed
and can in most cases perform a major rearm in the field under heavy fire
conditions in around 3 mins. This was made possible due to the ammunition bins
placement and the shipping containers doubling as the actual ammo bin as well.
The teams simply remove a small pannel and slide the new bin into the correct
track the automated systems take over from there. A integrated Infantry bay
was added so the HAF had constant infantry support (it should be noted that
all members of the squad are trained in electronics to check all systems for
drone uplink). As special armored van is also included as this houses all of
the drone controls.

==Capabilities:==
The Drone controlled HAF is a marvel of design and electronics (this does have
many of its detractors up in arms saying that the use of such electronics is
wasted on a vehicle and the entire program should be scrapped), but so far
extensive testing has been done to the units in simulation and they have
performed exceptionally well. Even with the Drone systems installed, the unit
scores very well on the performance chart. The weapons are basic and cover all
ranges with the Gauss Rifles acting as the main long range weapons. These are
backed up by a pair of LB5X Ac's and a pair of the new RAC 5 AC's, The latter
were chosen over the older Ultra model simply due to the ammunition jams that
occure canbe fixed even from the drone booth. Streak 4's round out the weapons
and give the HAF a excellent vehicle killing ability, and this also gives the
unit the ability to penetrate the weaknesses in the armor of enemey mechs. As
with the TomTom MBT, the HAF is heavy with Electronics, Though it does lack
the C3 Master it can still link to its lancemates with the improved C3. but it
can also integrate itself on the company and batallion level as well.

==Deployment==
Though the 43milliion c-bill pricetag makes the TomTom MBT and HAF expensive
it is seeing deployment in par with the MBT throughout the armies of the DCMS
and Federated Suns militaries, as well as thoes of Comstar.

Something over 42,000,000 (yes I can write it, but I'm lazy and it doesn't look that bad when written with words) for super slow turtle, that may fall to single Warrior with LB gun. Is this worth the money?

All those C3s probably make it useful in large battles, but isn't there higher probability of loosing something like this? Lyrans can send three Hauptmanns (well maybe Hauptmänner ) to eat it for breakfast and still have some six millions left.

Interesting experimental vehicle, but I wouldn't field it.

I'm somewhat stumped by the use of a C3i with a C3 Master on the HAF. Why? The two networks are incompatible. You can't try linking them, even if the standard C3 net contained less than the maximum number of standard units.

Yes I was aware of the incompatability of the 2 systems. but was wondering (and it figures that I forgot to ask the question before I posted the units.) But if a unit has both can it merge with one (using the iC3) and then uplink to another using the standard? effectively being in 2 seperate networks?

I lost a battlemaster to a infantry squad. Gotta love the golden BB. So considering that anything can fall to a guy weilding anything that can do 1 single point of battlemech damage (hell if they gave arrows HE arrowheads that did one point of mech damage you could lose a unit to a guy weilding a bow and arrow.

Its really more of a batallion or larger unit ment to be a stationary line of defense used in conjunction with mechs and infantry.

Aye but when used as is intended (2 Tomtom and 2 HAF) there is a good chance that thoes Hauptmanns will have a hard time getting near them. Remember the TomTom are slow but can deal heavy damage as well. With Veteran and elite crews manning these things there is a good chance that these things are putting at long range 40 points (MBT Longtom cannon x2) and 40 points (HAF Gauss x2 and LBX5 x2) and that gets significantly higher when the racs start firing. Not many units can handel 80 points of combined damage per round. Granted they need to hit but there is a good likley hood they will.

Thank you. Not sure if I ever would either, I have just started to look at vehicles a bit differentely with level 3 rules, they get so hard to kill its silly, was piloting a cavalier and took 2 srm 6's at short range, 10 missiles hit. I stayed in the air with only 1 rotor hit. and minor armor damage. but it makes them a much more viable item on the battlefield using lvl 3 rules, and if you are using these units them the level 3 vehicle rules should be in place as well.

Unfortunately no. You can only be part of one network at a time.

But there's another nasty thing you can do. The C3i only allows six units in a network, but none of them is a master. Deploy the TomToms and HAFs with a pair of speedy mechs as spotters. Comstar should have several candidates for the role already.

They dont use the standard Tom's. They use the Cannon version which is does 20 points of damage at a max range of 20. min range is 2 I believe. 5 rounds per ton. But that is kind of what i had it mind. fast units to get out in the thick of things and act as spotters for these massive guns on both the Tomtom and the HAF. Could be very evil.

Just how many HGRs or snub nosed Long Toms can you cramp on 3 Hauptmanns?

The mech's got 43 tons of pod space, standard engine, hand actuators as base equipment and CASE in the right torso.

That's two Long Tom cannons or two Heavy Gauss. So six on three of them.

Long Toms 0 they take up too many crits I know I have already tried. Snipers are the biggest Arty piece you can cram in a mech and a 100 ton mech can carry 2

               BattleMech Technical Readout

Type/Model:    Hauptmann HA1-O (base)
Tech:          Inner Sphere / 3060
Config:        Biped OmniMech
Rules:         Level 3, Standard design

Armament:
  2 Long Tom Cannons
Manufacturer:  Coventry Metal Works
  Location:    Coventry
Communications System:  (Unknown)
Targeting & Tracking System:  (Unknown)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
==Overview:==
    The Hauptmann, the Lyran Alliance's first OmniMech design, is based on
captured Clan Daishis. Coventry Metal Works, producer of the Draconis-designed
Firestarter OmniMech, took what they learned from producing the Firestarter
and applied it to a much larger chassis. Oddly, the Hauptmann lacks an XL
engine. There is certainly room in the chassis, and Coventry Metal Works can
afford the cost. Rumor has it that Coventry designers cannot make OmniMechs
with XL engines; however, it is more likely that they simply wanted to save
money.

==Capabilities:==
    The Hauptmann's primary configuration is deadly at all ranges, combining
paired ER large lasers with medium pulse lasers and the newly developed LB
20-X autocannon. Extremely well-armored, the Prime configuration also carries
enough heat sinks to make efficient use of its weapons, as well as the added
protection of a Guardian ECM suite. The A configuration is designed for close
combat, utilizing hand actuators for punching and jump jets for
maneuverability. It carries four ER medium lasers, bought from the Free Worlds
League, and two SRM-6 launchers, each augmented with the Artemis IV
fire-control system. For long-range weaponry, the A variant carries a Gauss
rifle that is more than enough to discourage smaller opponents.
    The B configuration returns to the all-around approach of the Prime,
carrying two ER PPCs for long-range attacks and three medium pulse lasers for
closer opponents. It also mounts the frightening new Ultra AC/20, carrying
enough ammunition to keep it supplied for some time. Unfortunately, it lacks
the heat sinks to support all of its weaponry.

==Deployment==
    In a unique move, Archon Katrina Steiner named the new Lyran Alliance
OmniMech Hauptmann, to honor all the hauptmanns who command in the Lyran
Alliance Armed Forces. The highest officers who consistently see battle, the
hauptmanns of the LAAF have long held the greatest respect among enlisted and
noncom officers. The first models of the new OmniMech were assigned to
hauptmanns in the new Bolan, Skye, Donegal. Coventry and Alarion Jaegers
units. The remaining Hauptmanns produced so far have been sent to Skye Rangers
units. Several Hauptmanns have been assigned to garrison units on Coventry,
with Coventry Metal Works retaining some to protect its main factories.

The mech's got 43 tons of pod space, standard engine, hand actuators as base equipment and CASE in the right torso.

That's two Long Tom cannons or two Heavy Gauss. So six on three of them.

That wasn't a question, that was an argument

But Hauptmann doesn't have hand actuators on prime configuration, so they probably aren't fixed.

Long Toms 0 they take up too many crits I know I have already tried. Snipers are the biggest Arty piece you can cram in a mech and a 100 ton mech can carry 2

Snub nosed Long tom from MaxTech 20t, 15 crits.

Gah! You are right, of course. They're always optional on Omnimechs. Seems my HmPro file could use some adjustment. Not to mention my memory.

BattleTech Vehicle Technical Readout
VALIDATED

Type/Model: TomTom custom
Tech: Inner Sphere / 3067
Config: Tracked Tractor
Rules: Level 3, Standard design

Mass: 100 tons
Power Plant: 295 GM XL Fusion
Cruise Speed: 21.6 km/h
Maximum Speed: 32.4 km/h
Armor Type: Hvy Ferro-Fibrous
Armament:
2 Long Tom Cannons
1 Guardian ECM
1 Improved C³ CPU
2 Medium Lasers
Manufacturer: (Unknown)
Location: (Unknown)
Communications System: (Unknown)
Targeting & Tracking System: (Unknown)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
==Overview:==

==Capabilities:==

==Deployment==
So far the new TomTom is showing up in limited numbers in the DCMS, and
Federated Suns militaries as there is a trade agreement with Comstar, Many of
the tanks are showing up in the Comstar militaries and are so far being very
well recieved.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
==Overview:==

==Capabilities:==

==Deployment==
Standard deployment appears to be a Pair of Tomtom MBT's with HAF trailers,
and a pair of fast medium mechs, (called a Bravo Star). The fast medium units
then enter the fray and use the iC3 network to give the heavier and slower
units better targeting resolution. Though Comstar fields the majority of the
units, the Bravo Star unit is appearing in both the DCMS and FS as well in
limited numbers. It appears that the Bravo Star is only going to be deployed
in Batallion size and larger conflicts, mostly due to the age old bias against
vehicles.
