I have to side with Seraph. I absolutely suck at the fluff side and have gotten reamed for a lack of fluff. For me the fluff and lift a review or sink a review, but I try not to base all of my scoring on that part of it alone. I have seen many mechs where the person is obviously better at writing the fluff then in actually designing the mechs. Ultimately what will win battles is the mech itself. The fluff does not actually affect the outcome of a match unless it has special rules (like the group designed Grillmaster)

Agreed. For me fluff counts for at most 1 point either way, but normally .5 only. I mean if the 'mech isn't that good, but the REASON is in the fluff (like a unit built in the periphery or something...) then ok, it scores higher than it would otherwise, simply for the continuity and nice basis of the design.

| This reminds me that I gotta thank you for posting up the modified "Gaijin" mech for me ralgith. Really glad that I didn't have to do it so that I can rate it.

for me fluff takes time to build so often i get impatient waiting so i go bersrk and hammer out a quick note and throw in the design it sometimes works  but not often 
when reviewing i do give marks for fluff as it is quite important in telling you what the mech should do

Penetrator PTR-6S. Yes I know that my persona is part of the Federated Suns but converting a PTR-4D into a PTR-6S should be easy and the ECM should be of more benefit to me then the 1.5 tons of armor I lose in the exchange.

Clan: Cauldron-born, Summoner, Mad Dog or Kit Fox
Customs: Shadowdancer, Lion
I don't play CBT RPG, but as IS character I would be from some backwater Kurita world, now working with Nova Cats. As clanner I may be seen as bondsman (willingly absorbed) with Hells Horses or Jade Falcons (higher probability I'm former Smoke Jaguar )

Well when I was first recruited I had your standard bigger is better illusion and piloted an Atlas, after having 3 of those shot out from under me during operation Bulldog I was assigned a Daishi but that too was shot from under me on Huntress, ejecting did go so well that time and the landing pretty much ruined my knee, by the Civil-War I was piloting a Heavily modified Centurian, which has survived mostly untouched to this day.
Though the exact specs escape me I replaced the AC with an RAC-5, the MLs with Clan ERs and added CASE. It's a Honey of a ride even if she doesn't see much action.

Ok, I know I'm digging back 4 pages into old posts here... but I was wondering if anyone wanted to dig through this and finish out the proper rosters?
I'd do it if I had more time, but this relates to my thoughts on running a server for playing online games here (my Poll currently running). I'd give everyone their ride from this thread upon character approval.

If I was having to really pick for myself I;d go with the Denkou I use to beat people up with in the Virtual World pods. Barring being unable to work it out in Battletech though Any Awesome design with PPC's or Large Laser without the XL engine. No way in the world I'd drive anytihng with Ammo or a XL unless it was clan.

well using lvl 2 tech I'd say the dragon fire.
for lvl 1 tech. Rifleman or t-bolt my self
rp wise I have a taurian char laying around some where that tends to be the general char i use for battletech rping heheh.
