Alright... I wasn't going to say anything, but, okay. I'm going to direct it. It'll be GREAT!
Car crashes, naked women, explosions, more nekkid women, underage gambling and drinking... I'm even contemplating throwing in some 'Mechs for good measure. Oh, and I got Jay and Silent Bob signed on to be Kai and Victor (Guess who's going to be who!)

So. what we need is a gamer who knows the story and the game to direct it.

That doesnt always work out like that.
Frank Lynch loved the novel "Dune" by Frank Herbert, and made a terrible, nebulous cacophany of a movie. If you hadnt read the book, you had no idea whatsoever about what was going on, and If you had, you were torn apart by the deviations to the storyline. _________________ too lazy to make a sig...

It was David Lynch actually (if your talking about the 1984 verison) but you are correct. But then. Lynch only real good film (IMHO) was The Elephant Man. I know everone liked Twin Peaks. But I thought it was lame. While Peter Jackson had a vison. Lynch just had a love. So I see your point
I say give it to Alexander to direct. I love to see Jay and Silent Bob in a mech, Now that's entertainment

Hey Thanks... I've also entered high level talks to get all the writers on board from the Khartoon. (Don't worry, they're all getting shot to encourage the other writers!)

Hey, we can get Jessica Simpson to play Kat. She has the looks for the part. Not the brains. But who needs brains when you have a script and legs like those

I do personally. Sorry I cant stand the woman, I dont find her attractive and since she is dumb as toast, and completely untalented, I would really rather she not destroy yet another franchise that I like. Dukes of Hazzard anyone?
I am finding more and more T&A DO NOT MAKE A MOVIE.
/rant off
Seriously the only reason I wouldnt mind her playing kat is because I already hate that character. But honestely she just isnt smart enough to play the part.

I was being sarcastic. I would never allow Miss Chicken of the Sea, in a Battletech movie. But I do like the idea of who you would cast.
So. if you had your choice, who would you have play who?

Oh lordy. I still think that it should be set at the beginning of the clan wars, and I think that a ultra high quality anime is in order. but since you are asking for a character list here we go.
(note this is just the first draft)
James Shigeta - Theodor Kurita
Jet Li - Kai Allard Lio
Natalie Portman - Melissa Steiner
Morgan Fairchild - Natasha Kerenski
Hayden Christensen - Victor Steiner Davion
Samuel L. Jackson - Jamie Wolf
Ewan McGregor - Galen Cox
Christopher Lee - Khan Ulric Kerenski
Lindsay Lohan - Mechwarrior Ranna
Rachel McAdams - Katherin Steiner Davion
Michael Duncan Clark - Khan Leo Osis
Lucy Lu - Omi Kurita
Jamie Lee Curtis - Mechwarrior Joanna
Bill Paxton - Adrian Sortek
Kelsey Grammer - Morgan Kell
John Mahoney - Aaron Sandoval
Tia Carrere - Romanos sister The one that married Justin (cant remember her name.)
Well that is a start. But with that cast you will never have enough money to get it off of the ground. There are others as well just cant remember thier names off hand. Some may not fit well but as I stated eariler a Good Anime is the way to go. That way you just need to cast voices.

Hey they have ALL proven to be better actors Actresses than some of the others (Jessica Simpson, and both of the bozos they had playing bo and luke in the new dukes of hazzard).
Hayden Christenson /sigh Sorry but I personally liked they guy as Anakin/Vader, I truly feel he did a great job as Anakin/Vader, and I cant think of anyone else that could play the role ANY better, there is NO ONE that could have been cast as Vader that we would be 100% happy with, but look at the movie its self, ep 3 is good but what hurts it the most is the piss poor dialog. The movies just lost so much when you realize the thing should have been directed by someone else, and the Dialog should have been written by someone else. And Star wars ep 1, 2, 3 should have been ep 1a, 1b, 1c, 2a, 2b, 2c, 3a, 3b, 3c, and they all should have been 3 to 4 hours long. (again with a better director).
I am not sure why you dont like Lindsay Lohan she really can act, everything I have seen her in she has done very well. And she is pretty.
Natalie Portman, Have you seen anything else she has been in? Again she CAN act. I know she isnt as attractive as Jessica (at least in some eyes, I personally think she is much prettier), but at least she has TALENT.
But if you read everything I wrote, I think the mechwarrior movie SHOULD BE AN ANIME plain and simple. That way the characters look right and all you are doing is casting voices.

I think the problem with live action (which I admit would be cool) is its just going to be to darn expensive and hollywood would go ahead and figre that.
"Hey its based off of a game so the target audiance is only about 12 to 19, and they want T&A more than a decent story so lets get the current flavors of the month, no matter how stupid, untalented and, wrong for the part they are".
Lets look at some of the movies comming out or have come out.
Dukes of Hazzard
Stealth
Dungeons and Dragons
Alien vs Predator
and so many others.
I am tired of seeing movies that could be really good, IF they would stop with the standard hollywood formula, Hero, Love interest, sidekick, combination and just tell a damn story, and go out of thier way to tell it well.

I must admit that for this movie anime would be probably the cheapest way to go without loosing quality. But concurrence on this field is tough.
And yes there are many films that were somewhat ... strange. I would like to see them as anime too

Hehe I dont know why but I have always seen Sam Jackson as Jamie Wolf I really dont know why. But I really like that combo. The other would be James Earl Jones. But he is to old now for that part. I also usually see Khan Ulric as James Earl Jones as well.
