Good. I can see these weapons fielded around the IS, but I just wander if it is better than standard field guns from Maximum Tech or equipment from Combat Operations? (I'll check that)

The MaxTech standard fieldguns are only counted with their actual weight and can only be destroyed by killing infanterists in that platoon.
They are no real unit on the map but a sort of special equipment "carried" by the troopers!
I was never satisfied with that and so developed "real" units that can be towed by vehicles.
I do not know about that Combat Operation field guns but will try to build some Combat Equipment versions (Which are a bit more complex because of that fire control and gunners rules!).

Well the guns are actually special infantry equipment, the people in the group die, there is no one to fire them. This thing won't last long either, but I don't have the Combat Equipment (curse the the delays), so I cannot compare it.

Combat Equipment field guns would be inferior because you have to incorporate Offroad equipment for the wheeled chassis to not force your tractor to half its remaining speed away from pavement, you have to take the Armored Chassis option to get real armor or you are forced to take inferior armor and you´ll have to incorporate fire control to avoid a +2 to hit modifier!
So if you want a "real" unit on the field better take my standard trailer variant!

Regarding cost and weight (6 tons for a standard motorized platoon + weight of the carried type of gun) the MaxTech Field Guns would be better but as i said before i don´t like this " a 6 ton motorized unit can tow 28 tons of field guns " thing!

Maybe that the guns don't weigh so much. 8 tons are when the gun is installed with ammo feeder, motors and targeting system (of course that I'm talking about reality, but the rules are rules ).

Maybe that it would be interesting to try this with LAC
