AMS.
How many of you fools play with AMS using standard rules? How many use a house rule?
I usually use a house rule myself because the standard rules for it are f'in stupid. 1 burst of ammo per attack with 12 bursts per ton. Easy and effective.

My group just goes by the standard. Although that could be due in part to the fact that we hardly use it anyway. Of course, that's usually because whoever might have it ends up forgetting about it due to our rarely ever having it equipped on any of our units in the first place.

We take the standard ruleset too but we almost never use it too! 
In my entire unit (A (very) mixed Regiment) there is no mech and only one single Vehicle with an AMS!

Big time use of House Rules for AMS, otherwise as you see from the other posters, why use the POS.
Like you one shot per incoming salvo. I do not make it fire unless you are hit. The system is smart enough to care if the shot will hit or not. For LRM 2D6 missiles are shot down and D6 for SRM.
For vehicles this is great.
Not to much complexity and makes it worth it. Just the other day the Penetrator knocked down at least 40 pts worth of damage. Then I switched to large lasers, but it was cool to see in action.
AWAD- Get a highlighter and mark the AMS, or you will forget.

I´ve talked to an old friend with whom i used to play 10 years ago.
So we had some houserules regarding AMS!
Only flights were engaged that do hit! The missiles were shot down after that roll on the missile hit table! That prevent us from shooting down missiles that wouldn´t hit either and so enhanced the AMS´s performance to a level we could accept!
But as i said i personally didn´t use them much!
