Sorry if i´ve to turn into Mr Know-it-all  but you´re only able to turn your arms backwarts when both arms have no lower arm and hand actuators!

One of the worst, least thought out rules in the game as well. Just try it at home and see how many different ways you can point behind you with you Lower arm and hand acuators (elbow and hand, respectively).

Actually I do it and I don't want to change that. Not to mention that mechs like Thorn and Sentinel seem to be able to do that anyway (look at the pics). My Flail design was made around this too (rear facing SL is there to cover AC minimum range).

Actually I think that It's only a matter of lower arm actuator. Hand held weapons seem to be out of favor these days (even PXH has everything strapped to forearms), but even then human has it's movement slightly limited by the bones. Robot can have elbows that can be turned around, but than we have a question of myomer allocation...
It's just a fiction, so who cares?

The only advantage of dropping lower arm and hand actuators (besides saving space!) is the ability to fire the weapons on both arms into the rear.

If I remember correctly, ages ago, if you had a hand acuator, and it was destroyed, you could not fire the weapon in that arm. Maybe old anime influence.
If you did not have a hand acuator, you recieved a +1 to punch. Of course you could not pick anything up either.
AWAD- Remember the old 3025 Wolverine pic that had the spare ammo bin in the other hand
