So what's your point? As a result of my skillful design choice, I never failed a piloting skill roll (usually the bane of my existence) in any of the three combats !
My little Whitworth even took two (or was it three?) AC/20 shots in the first battle and was still kicking (albeit minus some parts!)
All I have to say is at least I had a real Liao 'Mech and Death Commano attitude, unlike certain other players who chose "Swayback" hunchbacks - sounds like some gay Parisian bellringer

I also took 3 AC20 hits...including one where I intentionally took partial cover from it because I couldn't take another hit in my legs.

Honestly though, if Ray and I hadn't screwed up the rules the first battle and allowed Hardware to get hatcheted while he was on the ground, I think we would have won that battle and it would have been a 3-3 tie.

So he'd have been kicked instead...same damage and one easier to be hit.

Unless Hardware was in Wrangler's Right Arm arc and not his front arc. If that was the case he couldn't have kicked him, nor should he have been able to hatchet him as Hardware was prone.

The rules do allow for someone to hatchet a mech that is 1 level lower than you and in a side arc.

Page 44, rBMR:
The only physical attacks that can be made against a prone BattleMech are kicks and death from above, plus charge attacks from vehicles.
So while you can use the hatchet against a mech that is one level lower than you, you can't use it against a prone mech UNLESS that mech is prone and one level above you (which is a special case mentioned in a table on that same page.

My "point" my dear brother is that it doesn't take balls to take a mech with low BV so as to get a zero Piloting skill...........it takes FEAR!
