Ok, the Bar & Grill is up and running on my test site (http://sandbox.mordel.net). Before heading over there I strongly suggest removing any cookies on your system for 'sandbox.mordel.net'. If not you may receive some errors. As for the Bar & Grill, a couple things of note:
1) Attachment uploading is allowed in a few forums (Design Submissions, Minis & terrain, both Fiction forums). So feel free to test those.
2) The new site utilizes 'keep unread flags'. This simply means that posts are not considered read until you actually read the post. There are links on the pages to Mark All read if you'd like.
I'd like to get as many people as possible over there to test the Bar & grill to work out any initial flaws. Login for the sandbox site is the same as it is here. If you notice any errors, please post them here or on the new layout in the Site Bugs and Enhancements forum. I'll read both.
If possible, do testing logged in as yourself but also not logged in. I want to make sure both registered members as well as guests can browse without receiving errors.
Once I work out any initial flaws, I'll try to arrange a more "formal" testing night.

When posting the Ogre on the test site, I got a message saying
Quote:

Notice: Undefined index: body_text in /home/mordel/mordel.net/sandbox/htdocs/includes/themes/Default/modules/barandgrill/includes/barandgrill.displaying.inc.php on line 408

|
when I clicked the "preview" button. The message appeared above the text window.
Several questions also occurred to me.
1. Will the current forums be moved over to the new one (so that all of the posts here are preserved)?
2. For how long after the second version of the site rolls out will this version be available?

Fixed. Those are definitely the types of messages I want to know about. They won't stop execution of the code, but they look messy and is a result of some sloppy code on the part of phpBB.

No. We'll be starting from scratch. It's not a one-to-one forum relationship and I don't feel like porting evereything over. Your post count will stay the same, but the actual posts will not come over. So archive what you want now.

It won't be. When the second version rolls out it will take the place of this one. I'll probably archive the old database, but it won't be readily accessible.

When making a reply in the general forum I got this message when I clicked "submit"

And to think I once considered running a website. Too much work for me, thanks.

That's something I couldn't test locally. I believe I have tracked it down and fixed it.

You may have said this already but are designs, both custom and submitted going over? And is there going to be a Custom Vehicle and Aerospace section in the new site?

Yes to the first question. Eventually to the second.

Went and made a test post. It went through fine. But I was wondering why my signature doesn't come through correctly. I cannot see the pictures and the test does not appear correctly either. What I could see looked like this:
Calderon Protectorate
The Wolverine's Fury
I would expect to see this in my profile management screens, but not in an active post.
Does selecting the radio buttons on the reply entry screen make any difference when submitting them? Or is this too another item you need tested?
Thanks,
HC1

I'm not sure I follow you. I'll have to look at your post and see how it looks. But if you could be exact with regards to what is wrong with the signature, that would help. What am I seeing that I shouldn't be? What am I not seeing that I should be? Is something not formatting properly?

I see. It looks like the BBCode in your Signature tag is not getting decoded. I'll take a look at it.

Went to the Bar & Grill Dropdown button at the top of the screen and started checking out all of the different selections under it. Noticed the following things:
1. When I went to the members list when you place the cursor over the "sort" button the selection options moved to the left slightly, not an appreciable amount (~1/8") and the rest of the screen below that point moved down by the same amount. The same occured at the bottom of the screen for the jump to forum button.
2. When I went to the statistics option I came up with a list of the Top10: "Posters" was the option. It looked fine but when I went to the members list section and ran the same option (dropdown optionfor "top10 posters" and both ascending and descending order I got two other lists that did not match the statistics list.
Later,
HC1

Ok, tracked this down and fixed it. Works properly in the Preview section as well now.

This happens because the font in the button is changing from a standard weight to bold, requiring more horizontal space. I'm thinking of changing the effect on the mouseOver from the bold text to a different background color. Would prevent the shifting.

The statistics list will provide you the Top 10 Posters, descending, if run from memerlist. I ran it just now and the top 10 was the same. The order of the users was identical.
Please re-check. If they are different, take screenshots and upload them to the Design section on the new site so I can see. Or if the users are correct but something else is different, let me know what it is.
