But, yeah. I see what you're getting at. Whats really pathetic is that Ridge Racer, being a terrible series, is hugely popular in the land of the Rising Sun. Not so much here. Here we are addicted and spoiled by decent racing games...and even our shitty arcade style racers are better than Ridge Racer. Oh...at GameStop we had a joke about PS3 Exclusives, specifally Full Auto 2. For some reason that team jumped to PS3 exclusive. Sales for Full Auto were probably one of the lowest selling 360 games of the year...so we laughed. A lot.

Nothing wrong with being a detail asshole

I do find that article a little hard to believe, just going by the sales where I work, but I could see it as true. I do fail to see how they could call it "successful" though, considering most, if not all stores that sell a PS3 actually lose about $50 CAN. I would be interested in knowing what Nintendo's sales were like.

I definately agree with the racing games. I have never played Ridge Racer, and until RR6 came out for 360 last year I had never even heard of it. I'm more of a Burnout fan, can't stand Gran Tourismo, and never really felt the urge to try Need for Speed.

BTW, as I type this, I accidently spilled melt on myself

Yes, I agree, actually.

Capcom does it readily. First RE4 was GC only, then made its way to the PS2 and PC. Same with the GTA games. A few companies will hold out, though. Square-Enix will probably stick to SONY for its flagship title Final Fantasy (even Dragon Quest is jumping ship to the Wii).

Capcom-America has been very supportive of the X360, oddly enough, and despite the 3 million more 360s than PS3s they havent announced RE5 for the 360. They would probably sell 2 million copies in a heartbeat.

We'll see where it goes.

Well, to be even more exact, more recent IGN says they've moved 1 million PS3s. MOVED. Sales are different. There are 60 gig models everywhere right now.

As for the Wii, i think Nintendo had something approaching 1.5 million? I dont remember exactly, i'll find the numbers.

That's an important distinction to make. Shipped is not the same as sold.

Indeed, there is a distinvtion to be made. We have PS3s in stock, and have had them in stock since after christmas. Noone seems to care...

For some reason I thought hat they had announced RE5 for 360, but i may very well be wrong. I heard a rumour that the next Devil May Cry will be a 360 release.

I disagree with Square being only Sony for the Final Fantasy titles. FFXI is already on PC and 360.

XI doesnt count. SONY knew they couldn't make any money out of a PS2 exclusive MMO. Not enough people outside of Japan had the net adapter to make it viable. So they set out early on to make it a PC game with PS2 compatability. The 360 version was a basically the Windows release.

As an MMO it should not be used as proof that Square is jumping ship or looking to cross platform for its flagship releases.

They have thrown in their votes. PS3 for flagship titles, DS and PSP for major releases, and Wii for whatever is left over. The 360 might see a few here and there, but dont expect much.

BTW, in Japan 360 sold almost as many 360s in Decemeber (close to 100,000) alone as it had the rest of the year before it. Due, in no small part, to Blue Dragon from Mistwalker and Lost Planet. Coming soon, Lost Odyssey, also Mistwalker.

Seems the Japanese do have brand loyalty to a fault. What Sakaguci makes, Japan buys.

Granted, it's the Devil Himself speaking, but Bill Gates spanks Sony (and merely backhands Nintendo) on how the 360 is doing...

Bill Gates should leave anything Xbox360 related to the actual 360 heads. Those guys are awesome. I never got tired of watching the 2005 E3 videos of them showing off the 360 for the first time. God they're PR geniuses. Everything gates says always gets retracted or "explained" several weeks later. he just looks like an idiot.

Well, according to IGN, the PS3 will cost £425 and EUR 599 .

By current rates that is the equivelent to $836 and $775. I am not sure if that includes local sales taxes or not.

Ridiculous.

If I was a Sony shareholder, I'd sell now.

Yeah, SONY is kinda....well, dumb.

They do have 1 launch title for the UK and the EU that will help push sales, if its a decent game. The F-1 Racing game is hitting just as the F-1 season picks up. That'll help their cause somewhat. That is of course if the F-1 game doesn't suck.

Well Ill admit that I have been a playstation guy for a long time. So in a year or 2 I will eventually get a PS3. But that will be after I get 2 to 4 more computers so I can multy box in EQ. Mostly though because I already have some 35 to 40 playstation games that I still play, why would I get a system that I dont have any way of playing my old games on. But Ill get a PS3 when the price comes down, when it hits say $350, I will really start looking at getting one.

And I am sorry but the Wii just annoys me I hate the controller.

Funny video from a 360 partisan. Trawling the comments I didn't realize PS3 folks could be so touchy...

PS3 recently went up to 699.99 CAN, and is supposedly another price hike is on the horizon.
Conversly, 360 is getting a new sleaker, cooler chip, and a price cut.
