Well, looks like I get the first post here.
Just to get some talk going. What sports do you follow? Play? Used to play?
I follow the NFL and NHL as well as golf.
As for playing, I play golf, and paintball.
I used to play football, street hockey, soccer, and run track.
How about you guys? _________________ If ignorance is bliss, then why are you so miserable?

I watch baseball and football regularly. I watch golf, but only if Tiger Woods is playing (yeah, I'm a follower). I use to watch if only to follow Fred Couples, but he hasn't been in contention much these days. But I find that when he is, I usually watch.
I only watch Hockey when the playoffs roll around and only then if the bruins are in the mix. Basketball I never watch. Love to play, but hate watching it. _________________ Mordel Blacknight - Site Administrator

I watch F1 and Moto GP, and rarely football (= soccer) and hockey, but only championships when the Czech Republic is involved. Sometimes I watch Olympics and sumo, but that is even less often.

I watch some F1 and soccer (if my favorite team (Schalke 04) or Germany's team is involved). But all in all I watch seldom.

Football and Football (soccer for us North Americans)
NFL, NCAA, High School, pads and tactics. I was a referee for a little while.
Love World Cup, Euro Cup, and Copa Tournement yype soccer. I do follow the MLS and watch some games. I track at a distance the Premier and Bundes leauges. But they are broken like American Baseball. The same 4-5 teams at the top, 1-2 powerhoused usually take it with a surprise every 5 years or so. Buy the best, screw the rest. This is the one place the NFL rocks, even Detroit Lions fans know they too may win it all one day..... when I am 90.
AWAD- who tracks Fulham since it has the American Workhorse McBride on the team

I watch football and Nascar. I follow the 49ers (I used to live there) and the Bears (I live in Chicagoland now). I haven't liked baseball since steriod-fueled mongoloids like Barry Bonds and Sammy Sosa took over, as well as money-grubbing choke-artists like Alex Rodriguez. I haven't liked basketball either since real players like Magic, Michael Jordan, and Larry Bird retired and left the league to the gangstas and thugs that populate it now. I do enjoy hockey, if I'm at the game. Its one of those sports though that just doesn't translate well to TV in my opinion.

I'm dying to see how McGwire does on the Hall ballot this year. He got shockingly low votes last year, and I'm waiting to see if that was just a one-time thing to sort of show dislike in what he did, or if it is a sign of things to come for anyone who used steroids or is suspected of steroid use. Barry Bonds is screwed, because I don't think there's a baseball writer out there who likes him.
In McGwire's defense, what he did wasn't illegal at the time. _________________ Mordel Blacknight - Site Administrator

I don't watch (or really pay attention to) any sports. However, I do enjoy playing football/rugby (close enough). _________________ Evil is like a bowl of oranges. Only one, instead, is an orange of DOOM. That orange has a fate to rule over the other oranges with an iron fist. That orange is me.

Uhhhh which do you play? Becuase there is a lot of difference. I mean Rugby is a life, the beer, the women, the commaradre. Plus it is life without pads, or forward pass, and clok stopping. Plus we have the SCRUM!!!!!!

We usually play American Football, but on occasion we play rugby (usually rugby seven or something similar, since we can rarely muster more than 20 players).
Of course, we don't wear pads for either game, and we use an NFL-style football for both as well. Come to think of it, the way we play rugby is basically as Football, but with no forward passing. We don't scrum, nor do we pass by kicking (we do laterals or handoffs if we want to pass the ball to someone). _________________ Evil is like a bowl of oranges. I am hopeing he does well. I have always followed his career, when he left the game I really started getting away from sports in general. Being a Washintonian I have the Hawks, mariners, and sonics to root for. So other than the hawks (who were ok last year) not a whole lot.
And its amazing how many people overlook that little fact about McGwire. Andro wasnt banned and when they DID ban it he had already stopped takeing it. Infact when they originally started to question it he stopped takeing it.
It also makes me laugh when people say that Barry Bonds is natural. (have had some very interesting discussions with people concerning him and his sudden jump in size. _________________ Stinger If it's "creepy" to use the Internet, military satellites, and robot aircraft to find a house full of gorgeous young models so I can drop in on them unexpected, then FINE, I'm "creepy". Oh, Bond's is definitely taking. The fact he is in flat out denial will absolutely kill him on the ballot. I don't care if he breaks the home run record or not. That and the fact the guy is a complete jack-ass. Voters don't forget. _________________ Mordel Blacknight - Site Administrator

I like hockey and volleyball. I designed a new sport I call ellipse. That sport is played inside of an ellipse shaped arena. The minor axis divides it into equal halves for each team. Basically each team member throws balls across the minor axis to knock over pins (a knocked over pin earns the player that knocked it over 10 points). A ball that merely bounces off a player causes that player to lose one point from his/her team's total. At the end of 30 minutes, the team with the most points wins.
