So how big is your Playing Area? Or more appropriately, how many map boards do you usually play with?
I am only putting 3 sizes since I think that will cover the bulk of what people play on. If using GeoHex or some sort of terrain hex system, approximate it. Straight terrain is not being discussed.
You can add what is your favorite or largest size board you have played on also. This may affect what style games people play and the Mechs they use.
AWAD- 4x8 Table is just big enough for 6 players but a pain in the ass to set up.

When me and beebls could play it was usually 1x2 cause it gave us some room to move with out taking up space we didnt have
though we once got a 1 x 5-6 if i remember correctly at a local convention it was i kind of race setup was real good fun a mercury and a locust if i remember _________________ Nothing is as good as it looks and rarely looks as good as it isAnything that can go wrong will go wrong :Murphy

Well, 1x2, because I don't have space for bigger maps, but bigger maps are okay when we play somewhere else. _________________ The dragon NEVER sleeps!

Depends on the type of game. If I'm just doing a 1v1 battle I generally only use 1 map. If I'm doing Lance vs. Lance I'll use 2 maps. I don't usually use more than 2 unless it's at a convention and there are lots of units. _________________ Mordel Blacknight - Site Administrator

Anything more and it takes too long for the units to engage... _________________ www.210sportsblog.com

Me and Oafman usually use a 2x2 map grid. We tend to use faster units and like having a wider open area to manuever. He has an old ping-pong table we play on so space is not an issue. Sometimes we'll do design duels using only one mapsheet but I've been getting into some larger engagements and he's getting better at it. _________________ If ignorance is bliss, then why are you so miserable?

Being a range player, I like the distance of the 2x2. 3x3 if I have time and room.

We have played on 1x1 all the way up to 4x4it all depends on what we are doing. _________________ Stinger If it's "creepy" to use the Internet, military satellites, and robot aircraft to find a house full of gorgeous young models so I can drop in on them unexpected, then FINE, I'm "creepy". Unless you play lances with VTOLs, Spides, Fire Moths and other such high speed stuff. _________________ The dragon NEVER sleeps!

And then you never hit each other unless you have 1 gunners...so what's the point in playing? _________________ www.210sportsblog.com

Pulses and TCs killed the light super-fast designs. Doesn't matter how fast you are. That assault can just sit there and take the one or two shots it gets at -3 to hit you. And a light that is fast can't usually take more than a few medium pulse laser hits before it feels the pain. _________________ Mordel Blacknight - Site Administrator

the Davions can kinda do the same thing with a AC and TC using precision ammo. _________________ one must work hard to cultivate the mind and body. and one must always cultivate the mind.

I thought that TC and percision ammo was incompatible? _________________ Nothing is as good as it looks and rarely looks as good as it isAnything that can go wrong will go wrong :Murphy

The TC is incompatible with LB-X cluster ammo, precision ammo description doesn't say a thing about it, so I think that it's allowed. _________________ The dragon NEVER sleeps!

I think they can not be used to aim at a location but can get the -1 modifier.
AWAD- TC + Pulse is dead in Total Warfare
