And now (lately!) the first Mech from the "famous" Omaron BattleMechs Ind.!
What do you think (please consider fluff):

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
==Overview:==
In 2948 the first Mech to walk out of the OBM factory on Abagnar was the 25
ton Mordred. The designers wanted to create the perfect light Mech for
periphery operations on remote worlds.
The catalog of requirements was challenging:
Fast, high firepower, no ammo dependence, well-armored and easy to maintain!
After almost 18 months of designing the first Mech was celebrated and high
expectations were set on it!
But in the end a minor oversight doomed that Mech!
==Capabilities:==
With a speed rivaling that of a Locust and a massive 5 tons of armor the
Mordred lived up to the expectations! Three medium lasers formed the core of
its firepower that even could be brought to bear against opponents behind its
back. Two small lasers were incorporated as closerange backup. Ten heat sinks
were enough to keep the heat under control and there was no ammo to worry
about.
The interior of the Mech was easily accessible and components could be changed
and repaired without any problems: A technicians dream! To accomplish all that
the Mech got a rather boxy (others would call it "ugly"!) shape.
The selling started with high expectation but soon orders got scarce!
The customers (militias and mercenaries operating on worlds near the
periphery) complained about something the designers never thought of: As those
worlds used any resources they used BattleMechs even in peacetime as
construction and transport vehicles! But the Mordred had no hands!
Instead of tinkering with the Mordred OBM decided to do a complete redesign
eventually leading to its successor: the Parcival.
==Deployment==
OBM produced only 43 Mordreds! 30 of them were delivered to DCMS units
operating near the periphery. So not well liked most machines survived the 3rd
SW due to their sturdiness. Some were fielded by the later Free Rasalhague
Republic or ended up in the Outworld Alliance.
13 Mordreds couldn't be sold and were placed in storage. Two were used for
experimentation for OBM till 3060(!) with countless modification throughout
their career! Two were given to the local weapon producers like the Abagnar
Missile Company and Parabellum Firearms and were used up in live fire tests.
In some occasions the Metal Ants mercenary unit used two or three machines
from storage in case of BattleMech shortage.

Hmm, the 'Mech is quite similar to the Mongoose.The same speed profile, similar armor and armament. The lack of arms may be a pain, but it can turn arms backward to get rid of pursuers. The fluff seems to be okay to me and I don't feel like commenting it further.

I´ve designed it after a picture in the old House Kurita book.
If you`re owning one see at page 7 and you`ll see what i mean with the term "ugly"

Not that bad. Open TRO 3050 and then talk about ugliness.

The most ugly Mech in my eyes was, is and would be the Imp!!

I can't wait to see what was done with it in the Upgrades manual (the old drawing made a lot to make the machines uglier then they are, just look at the Atlas...). There are so many 'Mechs that would greatly benefit from Phoenix face-lift. the Mordred actually looks fine to me. It reminds me of early Kurita omnimechs (Raptor, Owens)

Hmm... As you (SD!) are the only one who commented my Mech I wonder about the fact that my hmp file was downloaded 6 times yet! So I think there are some people who actually like it (May that be strange or not! )! It would be nice to read some more comments from this people!

The fluff at least justifies the design. Otherwise you have what SD said plus standard Locut variants or the Spider to carry out the same role.
AWAD- The 12/18 Locust is just wrong

This mech was constructed before the TRO2750 came out (1989?) but as soon as the Mongoose was introduced I was a MON - fan!
