1. Survival Chocolate.
Each "bar" of survival chocolate is actually three smaller, individually wrapped bars; each of the smaller bars has a nutritional supplement wrapped up with it. Each of the smaller bars, when taken in conjunction with the nutritional supplement that is included with them, yields approximately 1,000 calories. As such, unless a person is doing intense activity a full-sized "bar" will last a person an entire day provided they have water to drink it with.
These bars taste little better than a boiled potato or creamed corn, meaning that there is little temptation for soldiers to eat them as snacks.
Each "bar" weighs only a few grams each, and so soldiers can easily carry an entire week's worth of survival chocolate on their person instead of a mere ration or two. While not filling or satisfying, they will keep a soldier or a starving civilian going.
The cost is .25 C-Bills per "bar" or 1 C-Bill for four.
2. Wristwatch compass
As the name implies, this is a small magnetic compass that is designed to fit on a generic military-style watchband. As it is straight magnetic and requires no electricity, it has become a common back-up tool for soldiers concerned about their electromagnetic compasses faltering or being lost. Unfortunately, as it is not electrical it cannot provide specific degree headings, and unless the soldier has ambient light available they'll have to make due with the somewhat pale glow-in-the-dark paint used for the numbers.
Each such compass costs 1 C-Bill. _________________ "I wish I could write as mysterious as a cat." -Edgar Allen Poe"I knew there was something special about you, but I never realized you were really a cat." Wolfwood to a random cat (Trigun)

Considering that we're looking at candy bars that come with vitamins, I couldn't justify charging very much for them.
And since the official manuals have everything in whole numbers, I had to figure something out. _________________ "I wish I could write as mysterious as a cat." -Edgar Allen Poe"I knew there was something special about you, but I never realized you were really a cat." Is it dark chocolate? It has more antioxidants, you know.
And is it heat-resistant? No one wants to have to suck melted creamed-corn from a wrapper.
But as a chocoholic, heck, I'd eat it.

This is where I got the idea for it.
Each smaller pack contains 1/3 of a bar of that plus a multi-vitamin; three of the small packs are bundled inside of a larger pack that is just bigger than an average-sized candy bar.
The idea is that provided the soldier has something to drink, he could literally carry an entire day's worth of nutrients in a single pocket. This would save greatly on weight and bulk, both for the soldier and the quartermaster. _________________ "I wish I could write as mysterious as a cat." -Edgar Allen Poe"I knew there was something special about you, but I never realized you were really a cat." We used to take Beer into the field... there's vitamins in beer right?
We're not allowed alcohol in the field anymore... and for some reason we have more vehicle accidents in the bush now than we ever did before. _________________ War is God's way of teaching geography.

You can still take non-alcoholic beer with you. It isn't what you want, but it's at least something... _________________ The dragon NEVER sleeps!

AWAD,
Wasn't it you that submitted the "Beer in the cockpit" rules a long while back?
