So I figure this is the newest of the core rulebooks, right?
I see that it includes some rules for Air/space combat, etc. Cool.

Does it have miniature rules including tables?

Not yet.

Total Warfare is designed on the same concept as the Core books for 3.5 DnD. TW forms the first book and covers only those tactical items needed to play but excludes construction rules or strategic assets such as Arty.

Then comes the TechManual for construction, Universe for background, Tactical Operations for advanced rules and equipment, RPG Revised for roleplaying, and Strategic Operations for all things strategic.

TW also removes levels of play and replaces it with Tourney or Advanced. It also sub-divides each by era of play and TechLevel like those found in support vehicles.

Overall, I am well pleased with the changes.

Have construction rules changed any? Or does something like The Drawing Board still do everything right?

Construction rules are almost the same, but they are in Tech Manual, not in TW. Maybe that there are some changes but most changes are in new gadgets. The Tech Manual includes all construction rules, examples, tables showing which weapons were available in certain eras, record sheets and new battle value system. I heard that it also includes rules for customization of infantry platoons, BA and support vehicle construction, low tech 'Mechs, ... all things that were included in tournament legal rules.

Does the main book cover Arrow IV, TAG and Indirect Fire LRM rules?

I mean...I GUESS I could wait till tomorrow when my copy shows up at Barnes and Noble.

Also...the new BV system. What are the formula's for figuring in the pilots. I am at least a week away from being able to get the Tech Manual...but I want to start throwing my forces together soon.

Or is there a publicly viewing copy available?

Someone can PM or IM me with the rules. Don't worry ya'll I plan on buying it soon.

Arrow IV will be handled in the Strategy or Advanced book... i forget which.

TAG has rules in TW for spotting for Semi-Guided LRM.

And Indirect Fire is fully covered.

Hmm...that could make things for my Catapult's difficult...I was going to have at least one of the Arrow IV models.

You can always use old rules... they are valid untill the new ones appear, aren't they?

Okay, so a few Questions about TW:

1. Is it catching on? I mean, of the 5 or 6 games of BT that I have played at Cons since the release of TW, all of them have continued to use the old BT Master Rules.

2. Is TW/TM now supported by Heavy Metal Pro? Okay, I suppose that was a HM question and not a TW question. and
2a. Given the complete change of rules structure, will I need to purchase an entirely new copy of HM-pro, or will there be an upgrade available for less $$$$?

3. Can anyone direct me to a list of rules changes that lists everything that was changed in TW relative to the old Master Rules? I really expected to see this in TW as an Appendix or a Preface, but alas I was mocked.

I suspect most of the events at TotalCon this year will use the TW rulebook.

Some of TW is supported, some isn't.

HMPro6, currently being worked on, will be 100% TW compliant. Rick hasn't set a price as far as I know.

There is one but I don't seem to have bookmarked it...I'll dig around for it if no one posts it soon.
