Wanting an upgrade to the venerable Firefly, ComStar began to experiment with
different weapon systems to replace the LRM 5 that was original part of the
armament.
After several failures, they settled on the new Light PPC that was just being
to come back into use through out the Inner Sphere.

OK I have never liked the Firefly, to damn butt sloe for its size. Can not even get a decent move mod when running or jumping. The LRM5 was a joke.
So your mod makes it where it will not blow up while trying to close in and kill with its little lasers.
But I would have dropped 2SL and 2ML and put another LPPC. Gives you more range punch. Yes more of a heat issue but I bet managealbe. Alos you still have 1ML and 2SL as backups.
If the LPPC is a true LVL 3 (3067) then might as will make some of the SL into SPL, be able to hurt infantry before they hurt you.
AWAD- Hammer with 2 LRM5 is one of the few acceptable light mechs with missles and slow

I was trying to go with something that was a total tech hog. Aiming for more of TRO2750 feel to the revamping.
I do like your suggestions for variants and will make a note to add them as other options.

If you were going for a TRO2750 feel you should have posted a Hussar with a light PPC in pace of the original large laser. I feel that unit would have made a better test unit for the mounting of the light PPC as it's weapon is similar as opposed to the Firefly's weapons.
Why not post one of those as well.

As for the Hussar being a better platform that is neither here nor there.
