And here is the mech in its current incarnation, completely redone. It has been dubbed the Thozian. I just thought it sounded cool.

Overview:
John Stonkin took one look at the proposal for Mech 72-2 and asked "What the h*** is this?!". The design was then summarily rejected. Designers went back and completely reworked the machine. What emerged is something rather different than the original. 72 has become more an assault mech than strictly long range support.
Capabilities:
All weapon systems were stripped off Mech 72. All the different LRM systems were replaced with two ARTEMIS IV enhanced arm mounted LRM20 racks, both with two ons of reloads. More short range offensive power has been added in the form of two medium pulse lasers and two SRM6 launchers, also linked to ARTEMIS IV fire control systems. The machine guns remain for defensive purposes. The main item of note in the new design is the addition of a C3 computer. The advantages of a C3 have been made clear time and again within the Draconis Combine military, and it was thought that 72 might be of better use as a command machine. As such, the communications and electronics gear in the cockpit have been enhanced and expanded to allow for the pilot to fill such a role.
Configuration / Variants:
none at this time
Battle History:
All trials and tests for the command version of Mech 72 have been much more favorable. GZT has been able to procure several more C3 computers, and a handful of the slave units to install in test machines.
Deployment:
There is currently only one prototype of the new Mech72. One of the main reasons is GZT's difficulty in aquiring the needed C3 computers for the machine. _________________ one by one the rabbits are stealing my sanity....
