*whacks Vagabond with his chart*
I haven't had time to look it over yet, though it should be useful in seeing at a glance if I want to make my 9/14/9 in 25 tons, or 30 :p _________________ Colonel Ralgith t'Mayasara Blighted Sun Battalion 1st Company 'Ralgith's Renegades'

If you look at the context the Marauder II was originally designed, 3025, its only real competition was the Atlas and the Imp, and the design basically relies on long-range firepower to out-match the Atlas in particular, so I wouldn't call it a "heavy in an assault's body."
As for the question of jump jets on assaults, I don't like it in general. If you're worried about getting flanked, use some of that six tons for decent rear armor and some rear firing medium lasers. No sane general is going to let his assault 'mechs get tangled up on rough terrain anyway, and if a city is giving you enough trouble that you need to bring in assault 'mechs, the assault 'mechs can just stand back and reduce all of the buildings to rubble anyway. _________________ "The enemy's gate is down."

Meh. I know how useful a jet can be. Best use of jump jets I ever saw was on an open field (blank map). A commander's Goliath, a custom model with JJs, was surrounded, completely surrounded, by pirate 'Mechs in all adjacent hexes. The pirate commander didn't know about the jump jets, and was going to pound the Goliath into scrap with physical attacks. When the Goliath suddenly jumped free of the trap, the pirates were left with few targets to hit, they had worked so much at just trying to get the Goliath.
With jump jets, you can never be boxed in. A good thing to remember. _________________ Jarylan Blackwell

Actually, this is already a part of my CBT List site, in the section for the "Old Wars in the Inner Sphere" pages. Oops _________________ Colonel Ralgith t'Mayasara Blighted Sun Battalion 1st Company 'Ralgith's Renegades'
