ok, so how the heck did it happen that this is the first time I've wittingly visited this part of the forums? I, as a self-proclaimed movie-geek?

In order to give this post a little substance, I thought I'd put down my current favourite trailer. This thing should rock our world!

I started watching trailers almost religiously only a few years back. With that I do not mean that I'm an active watcher of various trailers. But ever since going through a rough patch in life, I picked out "the one" trailer that happens to be an awesome mixture of audiovisual stimuli; that me away into an alternate reality, even if just briefly.

The movie itself does not matter as much, though most of the times, but not always, it will be just as good.

Prior great experiences have been:

300 - ancient mythology meets comic visuals. Condensed into 2 minutes, this is even more visceral and epic than the movie itself

28 Weeks Later - an ultimate disaster movie, even if the disaster is man-made and man-shaped. That songs sells the doom. The movie itself was a let-down

Watchmen - again, epic sadness mixed with superhero pathos and sold by the song. The movie was paced completely differently, but was grand in itself

Yes, Zack Snyder features rather heavily.

Strangely enough, there have also been some end credits which have captured my imagination:

Running Scared - the fairy tale version of the complete movie, this is utterly frightening.

Tropic Thunder - say what you want about the movie itself, the end credits, apart from featuring a disturbingly charismatic, dancing, fat Tom Cruise, are a masterpiece pastiche of small testosterone-filled set-pieces that tell us it's alright to be a guy.

If I ever liked a trailer, then it was this one.
