...since I'm going to be here for a while," says the recent slightly lanky arrival, taking a look around the bar and sitting up in a stool, caucasian face emerging from grease and dust with a wipe of his sleeve - the leather jacket shows a couple holes from near misses and his face bears at least a week's stubble, reddish brown (perhaps) like his short cut hair.
Asking the bartender to pour a round of beers, he pays up in advance before grabbing the pint, then takes a long chug, like he hasn't had a cold one in ages. "Sheesh what a month. With the weeks of bash back and forth between the old dragon and those warrior fanatics, there wasn't much room for my recon lance. The ol Commando's being taken down for spares and scrap, at least what's left of it, even if I managed to haul it back on its own effort. Fistful of bills and a handshake. Here's to hoping for a chance to pilot something a wee bit taller than this bar stool again - wouldn't argue having a couple weeks off though." End of monologue and pint one. Fishing out an surprisingly intact cigarette out of a rather crumpled pack, he lights it and looks to the classic fan in the ceiling, watching the swirling chaos it stirs in the curls of smoke. Being a mechwarrior without a 'mech was something to forget for the while.
