Personally I think that the Tachikoma would be battle armour or protomech at best. Especially if confronted with those military armour units.

Since Section 9 people are mostly a rough equivalent of WoB cyborgs in BT rules, making the Tachikoma to fairly mobile BA suits would be about right IMO. Note also that the driver sits in the abdomen of the spider, which makes it not quite unlike the sloth fenrir, ot other quad suits...

Ah, i know this anime only from a music video.
But they showed a bigger and heavier armored kind of machine. (So thanks for pointing me to the name of said anime Very Happy )

I've made some conversions too from various sources that didn't make so much sense in the battletech universe context but much more in their own (like StarWars or german WW2 tanks)

So I finally found some time to devote to this project.

I chose medium quad chassis for the speed, which is essential to the design. It may not look like much, but for a glorified riot suite it's quite formidable. It can keep pace with daily traffic, lay down some impressive support fire and withstand anything but dedicated AP weapon fire, not to mention it's elint capability.

Chassis 175 Kg
5 MP 120 Kg (able to drive along with cars, but still not making them obsolete)
4 points standard armour 200 Kg (affraid of RPGs, disabled by twin MG burst in the rogue tank episode)
Camo suite 200 Kg, 2 items (mimetic armour takes up too many slots, but for hiding this should do)
ECM suite 100 Kg, 1 item (well, the hacking utensil really)
110 Kg, 1 item modular weapon mount with SRM-1 (4 shots) or Machine Gun
2 SMG in modular AP mounts 18 Kg, 2 items
Improved sensors 65 Kg, 1 item (satelite remote)
