I have lost practically all my Battletech gaming material and source books. All I have left is Max tech and the Battle Compendium. Does anybody know where I can find a downloadable versions of the btech books cheap..and by cheap I mean free?

How did you lose them?
Not all books have been converted. And unfortunately, the ones that have been are only available for purchase. Nor would I condone illegal sharing... (that last part was for the legal department)

Well, while I was away, I put everything I had in storage. and entrusted my sister with the key. It seems she took some liberties and sold more then a few items on E-bay, Lucky most of my maps, figures, those two books where stored inside a case that she overlooked. But the entire Battletech novels collection, all the source books, a few dozen mechs, and all the mechsheets have sold.
Oh no. I don't do the illegal download stuff. The FCC tends to frown on that.

Wait - a lot of the older manuals are available for legal download online?
My copy of the Mechwarrior 3 main rule book is about to disintegrate; I'd love to get a copy in digital format. It's either that, or I transcribe entire pages onto computer to preserve them.

That's what I'm trying to find out.
I lost ALL of my AD&D 3.5 books. but found all of them on 4 Shared site. Even a bunch of game modules for it. I was hoping to have the same luck with B-Tech

Legal if you purchase, I suppose. Check out the BattleShop on BattleCorps. You can look for some of them there.

all free and legal downloads. Still working on finding more.

OK, why would a FREE download require a credit card number? If I wanted to spend money on this. I would go to Amazon and buy the them instead of downloading. YEESH!
