For this one, the main things I was looking at were the large number of single heat sinks and the lack of Endo.

If I was to do any sort of fluff concerning this, I'd say that it was designed by the Cappellan Confederation in the wake of the Jihad. Embarrassed by being taken over, the government (like with the Draconis Combine) went "Never again" and so did what they could to try and develop a powerhouse using an already-existing machine. The Vindicator was already in common service and so the average Cappellan pilot would have known how to operate one, so it was just a matter of figuring out how to make it even more lethal. Once some "inefficient" elements of the design were worked out, a lot of tonnage was left over for upgrades. This included doubling the number of lasers and installing an array of SRMs, making the mech even that much more brutally potent in close-quarters combat.

I'd suggest small pulse laser instead of ER smalls to mow down Blakist fanatics and droping that SRM nonsense (2 different launchers? Logistics will love you) along with LRMs and install MMLs. For designs combining smaller launchers these are great solution.

Thing is, having the 2 and the 4 gives the option of multiple ammo types, such as standard munitions in the 4 & inferno in the 2.

MMLs can do that too, just take three tons of ammo, no? Single SRM-2 is otherwise a safety hazard more than a viable weapon, as it kind of can't go through all ammo. If the standard SRMs are really necessary, you can always pack three SRM-2s rather than two different launchers, so that they can share ammo. Since infernos now do 3 heat per missile hit, then it's imperative that you lunch more than just two. Multi-hex smoke screen also works better than one-hex and so on...
