==Overview:==
By now it should be no surprise that another seemingly "dead" design has
turned up in the hands of the AFNN and its allies. Given their reputation f
being able to reverse-engineer captured machines, it could well be that the
took a single unit - likely one provided to them by the Wolf's Dragoons, wh
they have sought to form an alliance with - and learned all that they neede
to know.
What is, perhaps, surprising about this is the direction they went in for t
redesign. Whereas the Falcon was originally meant to be a force recon machi
this new version is quite clearly a commando of some sort. With an older
Falcon, it was just a matter of staying at range and chipping away at it wi
AC/2s and LRMs (once the AMS ammo ran out), as it had no means of returning
fire. But with this version of the Falcon, such a tactic will no longer wor
instead, it is the Falcon, with its additional jump jet, ECM suite, and LRM
that will be doing the long-range bombarding.
In the event that an enemy attempts to close in the mistaken belief that th
LRM came at the cost of the lasers, then they will be sorely mistaken; than
to the use of Endo and an XL engine, the Falcon now sports three medium las
and two small lasers, with double heat sinks allowing for the heat to vent
easily. Even heavier mechs risk being stung by such an arsenal.
And while the addition of an XL engine might have made the mech that much m
fragile, the designers attempted to counter this by adding a full half ton
additional armor and a CASE system for the LRM and AMS ammo. Not only will
it that much harder to breach the armor, if the armor is breached there is
comparitively little to fear from an ammo explosion.
