==Overview:==
Although the Liberation of Terra and the first waves of Operation Sucker Pu
were complete successes, a new problem soon emerged for the forces of the N
Terran Hegemony. 

While the AFNN, Wolf's Dragoons, Northwind Highlanders, and assorted planet
forces that comprised the New Terran Hegemony's assault forces were as clos
to full strength as possible under the circumstances, the Federated Suns an
Draconis Combine forces that had been freed from Blakist hands were largely
torn asunder. While there were volunteers enough to rebuild their ranks, th
extant Stormvanger factories were at capacity in regards to mech production
This forced the task of rebuilding the militaries onto the other factories 
the region, including those factories liberated with Terra, Quentin, and
Nirasaki. 

However, aside from the Alicorn and the Starflash, the Word of Blake had
intimate knowledge of the machines produced by these factories *and* had ta
the liberty of helping themselves to whatever had already been completed an
produced on the latter two planets in order to rebuild their forces; this
included such designs as the Hatamato- series, which to date had been
exclusively DCMS. 

Between the tactical disadvantage of Blakist intelligence and the prospect 
blue-on-blue owing to the Combine machines in Blakist hands, the decision w
made to construct a series of new machines that could be raised as a standa
machines that could be distinctly pointed out as either NTH, DCMS, or AFFS
units. The first two machines were the revived Firefly and Falcon, but the
decision was made to produce a new mech altogether, one that could fulfill 
variety of roles on the field so as to help it fit into existing gaps in th
various unit rosters. Thus, the Teancum was born.

==Capabilities:==
At 55 tons, the Teancum is on the heavy side of the medium weight class,
putting it in league with such venerable designs as the Shadow Hawk, Griffi
and Wolverine. In that sense, the decision was made to crib design cues and
even parts from the trio, made easier by the fact that the Wolverine factor
on Quentin was still operational. Not only did this hasten the design and
testing process, it also helped to reduce the overall costs. 

As part of it, the Teancum is - like the other three - fairly agile for its
size, sporting jump jets, an extralight engine, and endo steel. This enable
it to function as a commando or heavy scout in addition to serving as a
front-line machine. Helping it in this regards are the Guardian ECM and Bea
Active Probe, standard equipment for such mechs. 

But the most prominent features of the Teancum are its twin PPCs; not only 
it rare to see twin heavy weapons of this sort on a medium mech, it's rarer
still for a mech with this load-out to retain both hands. Not only does thi
give the mech considerable firepower for its weight, the hands give it
utilitarian capabilities and the PPCs being energy weapons mean that the me
can remain in the field for some time. Of note, however, are the large
box-line structures that the PPCs are mounted to. They may appear to be the
housing for other weapons, but merely house a double heat sink apiece to he
the mech vent the heat from the PPCs; the box-like structure was vestigal
after the decision to have other weapons in the arms was dropped, but was l
in place to make the machine more distinctive. 

Backing up the PPCs are a series of four ER Medium Lasers. Not only do they
provide a fair amount of firepower in their own right, they - like the PPCs
are energy weapons, and so allow the mech that much more time in the field.
However, they do make heat dissipation somewhat problematic, and so alpha
striking is *not* recommended. 

Aside from the heat issues, though, the end result is an undeniably potent 
machine. 

==Deployment==

the FRR, and the AFNN / New Terran Hegemony; also the site of production fo
the new Falcon and Firefly designs)
