You'll notice there are a lot of things still missing. I've been working on them, but some take a while to implement as they require core changes to the underlying code. Others are easier. You'll see them all listed in my bug tracking system. And I also make a post when I update the code with more equipment being available.
With the Rules level/Era/Year thing I'm working on, additional equipment has taken a bit of a back seat until I get this code rolled out. But once that is done I'll pick up on implementing more of the missing tech from Tactical Operations and beyond.

Mordel, what if the GM wants to limit the Rules Level but not the Era? I think options for "No Era - most restrictive Rules Level from any available era" or "No Era - least restrictive Rules Level from any available era" could be useful enough.

Supposing the Dark Age is the most up-to-date Era right now, do you intend to have both "Dark Age" button and a "Current" button, or would you combine them into a single "Dark Age (Current)" button?

I think the best thing to do is hold off until I implement this. At that point I think you'll be able to see how it all will work together and we'll be in a much better position to comment on the usability and any updates or tweaks that may be needed.

Sure. My GUI question is just idle curiosity.

So, the actual implementation of these is going quite nicely. I've actually completed the design aspect of this. I just now need to implement the method to show all the rule levels for a given year or era as you design.
For each design, there will be three levels shown on the bottom of the page (where the BV, Cost, etc is displayed). I'm also planning on having these three rule levels output for a given design on the PDF. This way when you print and use it, you (and more importantly) the GM will be able to see what the various rule levels are (if they differ at all). The interesting side effect to this is you could actually have designs which are technically illegal based on the year they were indicated as being introduced.
Now, don't worry. The main reason for this is because I don't want people to worry about what year equipment was available when they design. You could actually design something with TSM using the "Current" approach and indicate Early Succession Wars with a year of 2800. The hard core BT player will know this isn't possible, but the casual one may not. What is good is that you can actually look at the Era and Year rule levels at the bottom, and both of these will actually show the design is illegal per those rules.
Anyways, it's coming along nicely, and I just wanted to share an update with folks.

This has all been implemented now, in case anyone wants to give it a whirl.
