Nope. This is still not acceptable for majority of the players. Make Catalyst approve your product and acept the equipment in canon and we'll talk. Otherwise it's a pile of worthless junk. _________________ The dragon NEVER sleeps!

well, it's been a fortnight since i emailed Randall Bills of Catalyst Games, and he hasn't responded; i had typed my email so he'd understand that i wanted him to respond within a fortnight; he was in the US Navy, so he should understand that homeless veterans must be benefited.
Rudel, remember, my proposal for these books is that if you don't want to use them in any game, then you don't have to if you've declared so before said game started. _________________ "Okay friendlies, you're not paid to be exclusively a 'MechWarrior', vehicle/spacecraft crewer, fighter pilot, or infantry trooper. But why should i get this book if i cannot use the majority of the stuff in it in most BT-games i play? _________________ Reality is where the Pizza-man comes from!'Gucken, petzen, verpissen!' because these books will have made the fanunits & fantech officially canon. _________________ "Okay friendlies, you're not paid to be exclusively a 'MechWarrior', vehicle/spacecraft crewer, fighter pilot, or infantry trooper. You're just paid to follow my orders!" So says me to my personnel.

while i don't favor insane canon weaponry such as a weapon that has a range of 500 light years and a blast radius of 50 megameters, i am concerned that restrictions could perhaps make these books less appealing given how Randall Bills has said that advanced rules are very popular. _________________ "Okay friendlies, you're not paid to be exclusively a 'MechWarrior', vehicle/spacecraft crewer, fighter pilot, or infantry trooper. Ohhh I know Ill create a .5 ton ultra super computer. it grants the mech the ability to call dragons and see the future so I always get initive and never lose. the dragons can carry up to a trillion tons and have enough arms to pick up every enemy mech on the board banishing them to the nearest sun.
Oh wait!!!!!!!
Yes a Heavy NPPC that weighs only .25 tons and does 0 heat. Or a pulse laser that is un avoidable and is instant kill to any mech or dropship.
And this is the type of crap you will get when you allow all fan made weapons to become cannon.
You cant just demand that fanmade weapons get accepted. Drop that rule and you have a good idea. Using cannon weapons would be just fine. If you open it up to any player created weapon you will end up with weapons that are capitol ship scale on mechs.
Why because people (not all but certing munchkins) will want to give themselved the ultimate weapon. _________________ Stinger If it's "creepy" to use the Internet, military satellites, and robot aircraft to find a house full of gorgeous young models so I can drop in on them unexpected, then FINE, I'm "creepy". The project as proposed is never going to happen.
No gaming company is going to allow you to add your custom equipment to their canon universe for any reason.
Now if you were interested in using their canon material to create something to help a charitable endeavor you might have a slim chance of it happening, but even then odds are long a company would do it without you doing all the work and them getting all the credit. _________________ www.210sportsblog.com

You'll have to get all your customs weapon proposals accepted. Individually. And trust me, most of them won't be alllowed in canon unless they are well ballanced, bringing something fun and new AND not with wacky implementation. _________________ The dragon NEVER sleeps!

chihawk, let's not be pessimistic. when MechForce existed, fantech was published and is now interpreted as canon Advanced Level 3 tech rules from what i read in a MechForce Quarterly issue. also, if in addition to the copyright registration search fee i've proposed, there can also be a solicited fee of, say, $35 per fanwork (fanrule(s)/fantech(s)/fanunit(s) to be copyrighted. now, unless you want homeless veterans in the US to die from heat exhaustion/heatstroke during the 2015 summer given how meteorologists are predicting triple digit temperatures throughout the US during many 2015 summer days, i say: publish and copyprotect instantly fanunits, that use only current published official rules, in fanTROs so we can get this money to homeless veterans ASAP.
understood, Sleeping Dragon, though i'm not sure they'd have to be individually accepted given how MechForce accepted members' weaponry/equipment simultaneously. _________________ "Okay friendlies, you're not paid to be exclusively a 'MechWarrior', vehicle/spacecraft crewer, fighter pilot, or infantry trooper. I'm not being pessimistic, I'm being realistic.
MechForce was also officially licensed by FASA, something your project has no hope of happening. _________________ www.210sportsblog.com

then, chihawk, and all others reading this reply, there's no hope BT Writers can offer homeless veterans. so homeless veterans are going to have miserable and unhealthy lives or even die! this is horrible!

Are you trying to make us feel bad for not instantly agreeing with your idea as it was presented?
Are you seriously trying to make it sound like if I don't jump on board and buy this product the death and misery of homeless vets is on my shoulders?
Are you seriously trying to use an emotional argument to get your way?
What a pompous load of bullshit!
No. I will not and am not responsible for the state of a homeless vets when I have tried, fruitlessly, to take a really good idea bogged down by egotistical bullshit and make it something that could actually benefit a group of people. No sir. I have given my due diligence not only as a person but also as a social worker. No sir, I have had enough.
So stop throwing what equates to an internet tantrum and stop trying to use a project to help others to get your sad desire to be recognized in the canon fulfilled. Get your head out of your rear end so that you can (whose idea this is) can actually, just possibly get it up and going. And just maybe, do some good.
We have told you what you need to do. We have told you why your idea will never fly without those changes. We have warned you that it could be a lot of work. So now either listen to the attention you so badly wanted (after all, you posted it on a forum) and do the work.... or just forget it and move on.
But do not, for a second, think you are justified in trying to make use feel bad with a badly veiled attempt to fulfill a selfish desire.
Goodnight, sir. _________________ one must work hard to cultivate the mind and body. and one must always cultivate the mind.

no, in fact, i'd like more thoroughly exploring of this topic before it's put into effect by BT Typists/Talkers.

no, i would never do that

no, i was just shocked given the info i've discovered about homeless veterans. please click on that link of my most recent previous reply, and then please read the text that link provides; you'll understand why i felt shocked.
wrote: | What a pompous load of bullshit! |
please calm down. i never intended my topic to promote disdain. mastering the publishing of fanTROs and fanPROs (planetary readouts) would be a good step to mastering the problem of greatly improving the lives of homeless veterans.

i'm not accusing you or anyone else of any event(s). i'm a she, by the way.

being recognized in the canon wasn't my intention with this topic; i just wanted to benefit homeless veterans with this projected project. my designs use fantech; i'm willing to compromise for the time being of fanTROs using currently official published tech.

i'm not asking for attention. i'm just pointing out factual information. by the way, i would never require anybody to be at attention under any circumstance(s).

i'm not trying to get anyone to feel bad. again, my designs use fantech, and for now i'm willing to compromise on having fanTROs be published with fan units that use only current canon (official) published rules. i'll respect your opinions on this topic. i just hope you can respect mine.
goodnight, Vagabond
i'm requesting that this topic not be locked, at least for a fortnight. my friends enjoy seeing probable projects come to pass. _________________ "Okay friendlies, you're not paid to be exclusively a 'MechWarrior', vehicle/spacecraft crewer, fighter pilot, or infantry trooper.
