Overview:
As the Free Worlds Defense Industries began production of the LCT-3M at its
factory on Gibson in late 3050 a design team had been gathered to evaluate the use
of the new powerful XL-series of fusion engines.
The team worked out two designs making use of such engines in two different ways
and two prototypes were built of which both chassis were taken directly from the
running production of the LCT-3M: The LCT-3M X-2 and the LCT-3M X-3.
Capabilities:
[I designed this Mech after looking at the drawing of the LCT-3M in the old TR
3050]
The LCT-3M X-2 got its standard engine replaced by the new Magna 160 XL saving
three tons. The tonnage was used to upgrade the arm-mounted weapon pods to
quadruple small lasers. The Voelkers AMS was moved to the head to make room in the
mechs tiny arms. This prototype was wrapped in the standard StarSlab armor layout
of the LCT-1V but suggestions were made to use Kallon FWL Special Ferro Fibrous
armor on a potential production variant.
With the same speed as the LCT-3M but heavier weaponry critics pointed out the
high costs while still being relatively slow compared to enemies like the clan
mech code named ?Dasher?, a mech that the new Locust will likely face in the near
future.
Deployment:
Only one prototype had been built and production did not start. The Mech still
exists, mothballed somewhere on the test range of the Gibson plant.
Variants:
In an early state of the prototype design one proposal preferred a ninth small
laser and a Beagle Active Probe instead of the AMS, its ammo and CASE. As the
sophisticated probe required an upgrade of the sensor interfaces and time was at a
premium no changes were made.

I think 5 ML battery culd be better as you don't need to get that close and you'll be more accurate thanks to being within medium to short range where you'd have been out of range with the current layout. tThe drop in damage is mere 4 points. YOu'd have to go for DHSs probably though, but since you are already replacing the entire engine... _________________ The dragon NEVER sleeps!

I designed it to match the TRO 3050 drawing.
If my personal favors would be considered i'd taken more speed and maybe 3 medium lasers instead.
I just looked at the drawing and some fluff came into my mind and so i just went with it _________________ Reality is where the Pizza-man comes from!'Gucken, petzen, verpissen!'
