Since it doesn't pack TSM, wouldn't it be better to pack vibro-blade on it?

nice design, sadly everything i have heard about the new LAM rules rumors say that they'll not be able to use anything structural that requires multiple critical slots (ES, FF, XL) or critical slots in more than one location (Null Sig, Thumper). I am unsure about stuff that take up more critical slots in the same location or can be allocated to a single location (TSM, XL Gyro).

I don't have the $$$ to purchase any newer manuals right now, and so for all intents and purposes those manuals may as well not exist.

It's also a large part of the reason why I'm doing what I can to make my own 'verse - I wasn't keen on the whole Jihad nonsense or the Dark Ages game, and haven't been able to keep on top of anything else beyond that. So I'm just writing my own stories as I have the time.

IF true then why even bother bring back the LAMs if they are going to limit things?

Rumor is "due to the complexity and precision of their conversion process" those items cannot be used because they "would interfere with the conversion process".

And I wouldn't say they are exactly bringing them back but more of reintroducing them to shut people up. Given their semi-extensive use by the SLDF, they were forced to update the rules for the Star League Era book.

And as I said here, mordel.net/barandgrill.php?redirect=viewtopic&t=9920 ...

the decisions to artificially limit certain aspects of their design seems poorly justified. It smacks of a "because I said so" answer. Its no better than when vehicles used to pop like popcorn because of their critical hit chart just so Mechs would be the clear king of the hill. Or infantry taking full damage from PPC strikes.

A LAM is already disadvantaged because of the 10 percent mass for the conversion equipment, limited fuel, and lack of a free 2 mp speed boost in fight mode. The choice to use the WiGe rules for AirMech mode helped remove that abuse but still gives a LAM so tactical flexibility. They don't need to add more artificial disadvantages. Its unnecessary.
