if i remember right, the PTB have decided that a CT mount CASE does nothing to protect the unit or the pilot. In TW pg. 128, it expressly states that CT mounted CASE does not save the pilot.

Glad to know and my group doesn't play that way. It's CASE, it does the same job as it would in any other location.

And I agree fully with your choice. It should allow salvage and pilot survival if CT mounted IMHO.

Well, you save the pilot, but the 'Mech is still dead anyway. Is there a reason to use the streak SRMs?

Was going for a raider type mech, the Streaks allowed the ammo to be kept low and I felt that the risk was acceptable given that it would use the ammo up pretty fast once combat happen.

Even with two launchers I wouldn't expect the ammo to be expended fast enough. Perhaps three standard SRM-2s could do the trick faster. The utility of that arrangement could be quite useful - laying smookescreen on three hexes at once or setting three hexes on fire could work as area control or escape route cover. The same tonnage can also give you a full elint package - ECM, BAP and TAG or C3 Slave. Alternatively a Small Pulse Laser could also be handy to chase away infantry you may encounter while raiding.

By the way current weapon mix is not entirely unlike the Ninja-To.
