Overview:
In 3050 Corean Enterprises began production of the model CN9-D Centurion at its
New Avalon factory, and at Jalastar Aerospace's Centurion plant on Panpour. The
model that emerged from the New Avalon factory combined Endo Steel internal
structure with extra-light engine technology to increase payload and speed.
This had the disadvantage of increasing cost and decreasing survivability. Thou
the CN9-D's speed was 150 percent over the CN9-A its armor had remained the same.
Thin Torso armor and a bulkier engine resulted in great field looses. In 3057
Corean Enterprises set out to correct this and began the testing of its new
Battlemech line. The CN10 Petorian.
Capabilities:
The CN10-B shares the same chassis as the CN10-A includes room for a Magna 250
Light. This lighter Magna decreases field survivability by a fraction while also
reducing the engines overall weight.
The main gun PPC was retained despite good success with ERPPCs in trails on the
CN10-A; this decision resulted from heat concerns caused by the upgraded secondary
weapons such as the forward medium laser which has been upgraded to an extended
range model. The reduced engine mass allowed for the addition of Artemis IV FCS
attached to the LRM Rack while the piggy backed SRM Rack was upgraded to a Streak
unit. All the ammo reloads continue to be protected via case despite the new
engine's weakness. Meaning that the CN10-B can suffer an internal explosion and
continue to operate as long as no other engine damage has occurred.
The test pilot of the upgraded variant have stated that they love how the upgraded
weapons package feels. Stating that anyone familiar with the CN9 series or CN10-A
will quickly get used to the CN10-B.
