Overview:
Little is actually known about the Azrael Light Battlemech except that the
prototypes were first encounter on Gibson alongside the Gestalt. From what
little has been gained from combat ROMs and analysis of salvage the Azrael
appears to have been designed with maneuverability and accuracy in mind.
Utilizing the same cockpit as the Gestalt, the Azrael pairs this control system
with pulse weaponry and a Targeting Computer for unprecedented accuracy in a
combat unit. The Azrael adds to this lethality by utilizing Clan salvage
and/or replicas equipment in its construction. Fortunately, this had the
benefit of limiting how quickly the unit could be produced and fielded.
Capabilities:
The Azrael Light Battlemech appears to have been designed from the beginning as
an assassin style unit in the vain of the Exterminator. The Azreal is built to
be light, fast, and maneuverable. We know that the unit is constructed on a
reforged Clan Endo-Steel frame and its thermal and magnetic signature appear to
indicate a Clan 280 XL Fusion engine. This hypotheses appears to be supported
by the consistent combat speeds of up to nearly 130 kph. However, combat ROMs
do show bursts of ground speed of up to 216 kph leading to the belief that the
unit also mounts Myomer Acceleration Signal Circuitry as well as an engine
Supercharger.
The combat ROMs also show the unit leaping up to 300 meters at a time with
salvage analysis indicating the presence of modified Northrup Nova Leap 30a
jump jets and a Battlemech Partial Wing. Our analysis shows that encasing all
of this is a variant of the Divine Spectre armor used on the Gestalt that we
are terming the Spectre-LR due to the laser reflective nature observed.
Lastly, the ROMs in addition to the armor's laser reflective nature appear to
show the presence of a Chameleon LPS that tended to blur the outline of unit
making targeting difficult. With this speed and defensive elements, those
Azraels encountered in the field proved extreme difficult to neutralize
All of this maneuverability and defense came at the price of armament however.
Mounting little in the way of weaponry via a Clan Medium Class pulse laser, a
Clan Medium Class pulse laser, and a pair of Clan Micro Class pulse lasers, the
Azrael makes up for this lack in the shear accuracy of its weapon systems.
Combat reports showed that even when jumping its impressive 300 meters across
the battlefield the Azrael was more likely then even Clan mechwarriors to hit
their targets. So despite the light punch of its weapons, the Azrael can
consistently whittle its target down until it is dead or forces the Azrael to
retreat.
Battle History:
Units that faced the Azrael in the field on Gibson often did not know that the
unit was their until it was already within range and several forces quickly
lost key assets before they could mount an adequate defense. We are just
thankful that at the time of the attack on Gibson that it appears that only a
handful of Azraels had been produced.

It is the advice of this Agent that do to the extremist nature of this unit and
the damage such a unit could have in other such groups hands that this report
be labeled as Classified - Top Circle Eyes Only and all record of it purged
from the official files.
