Overview:
Designed to bring the Gladiator to a new generation of 'MechWarriors, the GLD-6R was met
with mixed opinions: as the revival of the the first step in BattleMech production in the
Draconis Combine or as an ill fated 'Mech that was destined to an early obsolescence.
Using a Targeting Computer linked Extended-Range Particle Projector Cannon as its primary
weapon whilst retaining the jump jets from earlier models, the Gladiator still has excellent
mobility on the Battlefield. Additionally, the SRM-6 remains but with double the reloads
over the GLD-4R, enabling it to remain in the fight for longer than before (half of these
shots are standard and the remaining 15 are Inferno). It also moves the SRM launcher to the
other arm and in doing so rectifies the inherent balance problem in Gladiators. To cope with
the increase in heat, the Heat Sinks are upgraded to from single to double HS.
