Overview:
In 3025 Corean Enterprises began looking into tweaking the production of the model CN9-A
Centurion at its New Avalon factory, and at Jalastar Aerospace's Centurion plant on Panpour.
The model that emerged from the New Avalon factory increased the weapon payload and armor
resulting in the CN9A-A Praetorian.
Capabilities:
The CN9A-A shares the same chassis as the CN9-A though modified to accept the new designs
internal layout. The greatest changes was the removal of the Luxor D-Series Autocannon and
associated ammo bins and feeds in exchange for a Johnston Parti-Cannon PPC and extra
heat-sinks. A change that allowed for a similar damage and range profile for the main weapon
while keeping the increased heat under control.
The weight savings of using the PPC allowed for the addition of a Holly SRM-4 piggy backed
under the Luxor 3R LRM-10 rack for greater close in firepower. As part of the addition of
the new launcher, all the ammo reloads were moved much closer to their launchers in order to
simplify the ammo feeds.
In addition to these other changes, the external armor has also been increased to
89 percent of maximum for the weight class. This additional armor has altered the external
profile somewhat, creating the look of a bulkier CN9-A. The engineers also included a
prototype head ejection system based on the one utilized by the HCT-3F Hatchetman.
When asked for comments the test pilot stated he loved how the design handled. Stating that
anyone familiar with the CN9 series will quickly get used to the CN9A.
Deployment:
The CN9As are going thru there final paces and should be released within 6 months in time to
see action in 3026.
