==Overview:==
The Vidar was among the many mechs built just after the truce with the Clans. The mech has decent ranged firepower and can be a nemies of vehicles and battlearmor with it's LBX AC and pulse lasers.
The Vidar is fast for it's size and can take damage that most other mediums can not. The mech has a very good reputation for ease of repair and it's cost is well with in the range of most groups who need a decent 55 ton war machine.
==Deployment==
About 500 Vidars were made in the first 5 years of the production run. The current status of this mechs is one awaiting full detail combat reports and the engineers at Icarus are planning to revamp the mech to full meet any changes recommend. This is hoped to be Icarus's premier war machine after their Blower Hover Tanks and Combat Cars.

The only thing I do not like, Is the lack of jump jets. All lites and meds should have some jump capablitys (Of course that is my personal opinon)
But this is a dangerous mech. All the ranges are covered. The heat is not too bad. But the most dangerous thing about it is the fact that they easy and cheap to make.

the only fault I see is the XL engine...makes it kinda vulnerable, but I think the added firepower makes up for it. I'd rather give then recive. _________________ I have the right to remain silent. Anything I say will undoubtedly incriminate me.

I have a version with out the XL, but it doesn't have the same weapons load out and loses some armor...I felt that this time the XL was warranted since as you said it increase the firepower thus the mech should in theory be able to blast away at it's enmey before dying.
