Honestly? I have no clue. I designed it a while ago and have since then forgoten why. I think that is was just to see what it would be like with the LGR's.

I think part of the reason was to add more damage to distance weapons, longer distance and to provide extra ammo so that the mech is not too dependant on a short ammo supply.
