Several bugs I've noticed while playing around with the 'Mech creator/editor:
Super-heavy Tripods: When building a tripod 'Mech, if I select a tonnage over 100, "Tripod" resets to "Biped."
Inner Sphere Ultra AC/2: The tonnage for the IS Ultra AC/2 in the editor is 7.5. It should be 7.0.

I got scared when I read "assorted bugs", but this turned out to not be so bad. 
You are correct on the weight. That must've been a transcription issue when I revamped the equipment tables. Either way, I was able to update the weight directly and it now weighs 7 tons, as it should. There were only three designs currently using it, and they were all built before I updated the weight, so no issues there.
As for Tripod Superheavies, I have not yet implemented those. They are on my list, as are Quad Superheavies. So the reason you're seeing the chassis flip to Biped when you select a tonnage over 100 is because you can't build those yet. It's close to the top of my to-do list though.
