Random BTech-related dream I had -
In the dream, I'm trying to get a new group together.
One of the players pointed in my direction is a rather young individual who is something of a hotshot. He's obsessed with the Mad Cat II, and it's his go-to machine whenever he's doing a pick-up game. Since he's mostly played against people with even less experience than he has, he usually just overwhelms them with raw force. As a result, he's alienated a lot of potential new players.
The young man gets a rather swift attitude adjustment when he learns that I've been gaming longer than he's been alive, is terrified when I explain that in my campaigns "clever and daring win, but stupid hurts", and is practically beside himself to learn that we'll be doing a full campaign, and that the nature of the campaign I have planned means a Mad Cat II is out of the question.
I suppose he was steered into my path so that I could sort him out of his bullying ways, but it seems that even in my dreams I'm the "old fart" of whatever group I'm running these days.

Anyone who can only play with a Mad Cat II has problems to begin with.

Back when I was in high school, I met a kid whose entire body of tactics was "have four Pack Hunter mechs herd his prey so that the Daishi his star commander was piloting could snipe them".
